Ok right off the bat: A++++++++. This is my ultimate OTP. I just. I love them to bits y’all.

There’s just LOTS OF ROOM to explore their dynamic, and like, I need more tendershipping where it’s Ryou being stubborn and on par with Bakura and Bakura knowing this and having to navigate that and having that grudging respect for him!? Because Ryou’s a force to be reckoned with, in the grand scheme of things. He isn’t a pushover. They’re both stubborn, they’re both determined, they share so much more than either of them would think and like?? Them realizing that? My JAM.

And don’t even get me started on the post-canon possibilities……. I want those slow burn tendies as they try to navigate a bond and the genuine bond that comes with it. I want! DEVELOPMENT!! And Bakura just stewing in emotion that he isn’t used to while Ryou’s just oblivious because his only experience with ppl crushing on him is forming fan clubs for him?? Like? And the romcom potential? Bakura just being so bad at romance because he’s been solely A Grudge and Revenge for the last 3000 years, and now he wants this with Ryou? He wants Ryou to want that with him? The yearning? 

The yearning??!

The bad flirting? The PUNS?? Ryou being attracted to strong personalities and also how goofy and cackling and punny Bakura is? Having someone who won’t try and say “hey this stuff is too spooky maybe you shouldn’t mess with the horror/occult stuff Ryou”?! Someone who will snark with him and banter back and forth with him and not treat him like he’s constantly being underestimated or not trusted to know what he wants?

Them getting to that mutual “I will die before I let someone do something terrible to you” stage because Enemies to Best Friends to Lovers?!! SUCH a good trope??!

I’m okay and so is my car! But that really freaked me out, haven’t had anything like that happen in a while so it’s really unnerving! 

Also, as soon as I got home, the roads were given a red warning for a majority of the state, so it was pointless to have dealt with that, haha.

Bakura is brought back (you can take your pick how) and Ryou’s out of town for college, so Yugi volunteers to take him in. It’s a bit awkward at first, as Bakura basically avoids him and hides in his room. As time goes on, he starts not getting up and leaving when Yugi sits down on the couch. He makes snarky comments when he doesn’t like whatever Yugi’s watching on TV, but Yugi just shrugs and turns the volume up louder.

They slowly slide into comfortable with each other- Bakura hasn’t made any move to hurt his friends besides insulting them sometimes (and honestly, it’s not that much worse than Honda and Jou snipping at each other anyways) and Bakura finds that he doesn’t mind Yugi’s attitude. He even deigns to help at the shop sometimes if he gets bored enough. 

One night, they’re playing duel monsters, and being a little shit, Bakura bets that if he wins, Yugi has to give him a kiss. To his shock, Yugi just grins and tells him that he’s on. Bakura manages to resurrect Necrofear and turn the battle at the last second, and Yugi’s cheeks are pink before he crawls across the carpet. Bakura’s face feels red-hot and he turns away, not honestly expecting it, and Yugi ends up kissing his cheek instead.

They both shuffle their decks again and don’t mention it, but that night when they’re playing video games, Bakura notices Yugi’s sitting closer than usual and when he leans to the right to steer his car, he bumps Bakura’s hip.

Instead of going on about personal space like he might have a few months ago, Bakura just focuses on the screen and the sweet smell of Yugi’s strawberry shampoo.

Your art style makes me think you drew very serious muted things for a while and had enough and just wanted to draw bright colors

Honestly you’re very much on the nose! As I was starting out I very much saw that my peers and idols were drawing more realistic/muted things with neutral colors. Just recently I’ve realized that I can burn everyone retinas with my art and color choices so I decided to do so!

Ryou is 100% home of sexual, mostly cuz Angst, Heart, and Tendershipping are all too cute to pass up (also a bit because let's face it, D&D is gay culture)

As for trans HCs, I never had a deadset one for him but I think the idea of him being trans would be interesting to explore ("oh Amane? Yeah she was my uhhhhh sister"). And it's technically not mine but @justryou 's bigender Ryou HC is very Valid and Cool
