Slowly finishing painting thingies. 👀 Truly, if you'd told me a few months ago that I'll be doing crafts like that, I probably would have laughed. Actually finished Maelle's rapier the other day, too.

Still sorta stuck with my transparent prints, tho, Rumi sword(s plural in my case lmao) are harder than Maellum to even glue together since I can't glue them to the rod, and I can't paint them properly by hand, so I'm trying to figure out airbrushing now to make a decent semi-transparent base. :c

Oh no, she's on her COE33 printing shit again...

Half a day to get Esqium in decent shape for printing (still fucked up and might have to split the hilt into more parts whether I want to or not, rip to 20 hours of printing it then), about a day and a half to print it out. Also printed out the dlc crown and full-sized Gustave's hand last week.

I'm getting more comfortable with the FDM printer, though I still prefer my resin one. But yeah, the brittle resin for larger prints is a no-go, so whether I like it or not, I should get better at printing on Bambu. At least I got it not to knock over the higher prints... The nozzle was hitting everything at like layer 700+-, which ultimately failed me a lot of prints up until this weekend. Wasn't a big problem for larger prints (tho the sound of the nozzle hitting the print is gonna haunt me in nightmares now), but for thin blade parts you have to position upwards it made even thinking of printing swords or rapiers impossible. So thank God that's past me... Hopefully... 😹

So Requiem took more than a full day to print with two fuckups. First major fuckup was the nozzle eventually ripping the grip off supports because of running into the grid infill funny how the default infill can lead to your prints failing 💀

The second was with the main body not sticking to supports at all because by default they're miles from the object. And the Z distance was already closer in my slice than defaults because I've already faced it with the grip as well it actually ripped off part of the lower layers of the model, so I had to make it even smaller. The body tried to off itself near the end of the 2nd try, too, see the space above where the cylinder goes? Since the slicer didn't generate any supports for it (and me realizing too late it might lead to problems), the nozzle started to eventually push it down slightly when printing the next layer, and stumbling upon it the next, so I had to babysit it, pause a few times, and sand it with nail file to finish printing.

And yeah, there're some holes in the cylinder, but that's fixable. And the body doesn't fit into the grip. So toooons of post processing to do. :(

But at least I think it's true-ish to size? And given that was my first go at complex FDM, tinkering with settings as I went, I'd say it's pretty good. The grip actually looks kinda small compared to the body, but they were scaled the same. xD

Got one side of Keyleth antlers on the third try. Whoever says you don't have to tinker with Bambu Lab printers is lying lmao

If you're only using printing profiles from makerworld then maaaaaybe, but if you're printing something that's not there, good luck if you're just starting out & wanna use PETG for maximum durability of props. I honestly thought it would fail the third time. Creality filament, so like, not a dirt cheap one, dried straight out of the vacuum before printing, and still gave me hell.

Resin printing is way, way easier for me. 😂

Maybe if I started trying to print with Requiem it would have went smoother, 'cause there would have been a bigger space for the parts to adhere to... I legit thought this print would be easier, but I was quickly taught the ways of FDM are different lol

idk, will see how the second antlet and hopefully starting on Requiem goes tomorrow. I'm not drying that spool again, so I want to use it in a couple of days. xD My resin printer wired brain is looking at the potential weight of a 36 cm gun like. Nah. It cannot possibly not go wrong. 😹
