Me and my friend's cosplay performance last weekend. SCORED OUR FIRST WIN!!!

My cosplay performance from 2022 in the Swedish Cosplay Championship.

The performance I'm in starts at around 23 minutes in.

I'm Gabrielle, the Battling Bard of Poteidaia, writing in the corner. The bread was, obviously, the star of the show. Look at its immaculate timing, in-character breadness, and intense loafing!

Details under the cut:

Can't say I'm entirely happy about how far apart the "forest" and the "wall" got placed, and therefore me, but that's not on us. The camerawork was surprisingly non-sucky! (If you've seen other NärCon cosplay performance camerawork, you know what I mean.)

Note especially Gabrielle's (out of frame...) crossed fingers "I would never", the "what? who? ME?!?!" of the bread thief, the twirl of the skirt during the jump, and the old man dance when getting back the bread to feed his 13 18 25 grandchildren.

The bread thief actress is the source for Gabrielle's voice, she naaailed it!

Lots of fun was had, the bread performed admirably well and is apparently very tasty, too!

All in all, a damn good performance. All cred to Darkesttears for coming up with it, and making it happen! And do look at all the others, too, even if you can't see the costumes up close the performances are all great in their own way!

Take a look at this, it's absolutely delightful. So many cosplayers. Bad Apple playing in the background. Silliness all over the place. It's perfect.

Being a cosplayer means spending three months scouring the internet for screen-accurate fabrics, going through the episode frame by frame to get the best possible references, spending three-ish years (on and off) making the costume and planning a performance, just to go up on stage for two minutes and 24 seconds to perform a silly song from a silly musical.

It was awesome.
