SWEET CHARITY (1969) 15 x 20" (38 x 51 cm.) costume sketch, USA. This design by perhaps the best known film costumer is a brilliant representation of the trendiest of late-1960s fashions. So outstanding was Edith Head's work for this dance musical that she was nominated for an Academy Award. This mini dress design was for the musical number called "The Aloof-Rich Man's Frug". Sketch is accomplished in ink, pencil and gauche and is on illustration board. The head piece, dress and shoes are accented with diamonds. Edith Head has boldly signed the sketch. A superb swinging 60s art piece.
