Hello ! Nice to meet you. I've come across your story Fallen Angel and it's got me hooked and I'd like to ask some questions if you don't mind answering. What was your inspiration for the story ? Are the vampires (Hi Caleb ) the bad guys in the story ? How do you deal with writer's block ? I like your makeover of Grace . She's beautiful !

I'm also curious about the novel you're writing about. Is it based on children of the forest? I thought Aries and Edin were related because they look so similar.

Fallen Angel was my first ever official story I dropped outside of my typical legacy family updates that I posted over on TikTok. It was experimental and an opportunity to get into occult gameplay/storytelling that I so yearned for. It’s far from perfect, it’s flawed in my opinion but it’s the foundation of all my stories.

-My biggest inspiration is Princess Mononoke , ATLA (animated series) and Maleficent. (As well as a few other animes and cartoon series like Inuyasha and Full Metal Alchemist and books like The Hunger Games and His Dark Materials). I’ve always wanted to create a fantastic world with complex and morally gray characters you could root for or against or both. We love nuance!

-The vampires in Fallen Angel and COTF are the bad guys, yes, as in they do very bad things and cause a tremendous amount of harm but they’re the product of what has happened to them. It can’t be helped. The ones in my story however are portrayed a bit differently. I’m still developing them, so I won’t share too much. ⭐️ more to come

-Edin and Aries are not related but they are both Fae Guardians. Genetically, since they are both a product of forest magic, they both function the same and carry similar biological roles in their communities (protecting, leading, siring strong offspring). How they interact and their connection to each other is going to be explored greatly in my story.

-As for my story, so far it will be 2 parts (but it could possibly be 3). Children of the Forest is book 1 which will follow Adie and Edin through childhood from ages 10-20. Book 2 will (ideally) conclude in their young adult years and their story. There will be multiple POVs and nonlinear narration. A lot has changed from what I shared on tumblr to what will be in the book , naturally. I’ve cut a lot of characters, I’ve combined elements of certain characters into one and I’ve created all new characters. Everything is still in its early stages, I’m still world building but it’s so much fun and I love that light bulb moment when I think of what more to add to a fantastic world.

-As for writers block, honestly I consume. Consume more media, more books and shows. I talk to people with similar interests as me. I take ample breaks to give myself a fresh perspective and allow myself to get hungry again and I consume some more and so on. I’m still trying to learn how to overcome writers block, I think it’s just something we go through but finding your element and process and ditching the ones that doesn’t work is all apart of it ⭐️

Aww, me too!!! 🥹 I was thinking of them recently (mostly cotf as a whole) and how I still would love to turn it into a book series. Hoping to get into that 2026 🤞🏾

Not to sidetrack, but how did the Enchanted by Nature pack change/influence CotF?

Nothing much yet. I was very pleased to see that there is tension between vampires and fairies in game, just like in cotf.

When it comes to werewolves and faeries, my fae doesn’t have any issues with them, not like with vampires. For the most part the fae are fairly peaceful (in a “minding my own business” kind of way). I did take a break from EBN gameplay, but I plan to get back into it some more to see what all I liked about the pack to add to cotf.

For example, I really love the fairy neighborhood in Innisgreen, Everdew. Before the occult war, when faeries lived in the magic realm, their home was a lush, magical forest that was ethereal and beautiful, a lot like Everdew. I’ll have to figure out where I’ll add that into the story but it is nice to finally have the visuals for it.

Here's 5 Facts About Adie Briar (my gen 6 heir and main protagonist of cotf main story)

Adie was abducted by mermaids as an infant, and she's never heard the end of it from her mother, so now she's terrified of mermaids lol (which says alot because she's not scared of alot things really)

Adie is homeschooled because she accidently harmed another student with her magic when she attended school.

She's left handed!

Her favorite animals are foxes and owls (and later on wolves become her favorite animals too)

She has a wild imagination and she’s incredibly active physically and socially amongst her family members but when it’s time for bed: she doesn’t dream.

Here's 5 Facts about Edin Silversweater! (in the canon main story)

Edin is a fae guardian. Guardians are the protectors of fae kind. They sprout from the grounds of The Glade (a faerie birth / final resting place for their magic) via forest magic from the Earth. I have some more lore about fae guardians here.

Because Guardians aren’t born through traditional pregnancy, Edin doesn’t have a belly button. (which is probably my favorite fact lol)

Faeries are NB, so Edin uses they/them pronouns!

Edin's last name is Silversweater, after being adopted by Simeon Silversweater in Fallen Angel. But Faeries don't typically have surnames.

Edin is apprehensive about bodies of water because faerie are not good swimmers (their wings take on too much water and it causes them to drown).

Once the summer is over, I am getting back into AOBS which shouldn’t take too long to conclude, I think maybe two- three months top if I get to a posting schedule. It’s a very linear story, with a beginning and end so it’s easy to tell- sometimes a challenge to create which is where the breaks come in. I appreciate everyone being patient with me ✨❤️

After that, is back to Missing Moments and COTF - but I did want to make tiny visual storytelling changes to both. I’ve told a good bit of stories since my hiatus began so I’m feeling inspired. I’m still workshopping what I want to do.

In the meantime, I was thinking about putting together a cotf lore journal! In it, is all the lore and facts about the occults of cotf, references and stats, visuals- you name it. I’ve been thinking about this project for some time but I think I know how I’d like to execute it. So more to come on that! I think it’ll be a great resource for new readers and a refresher for old readers and great for me the storyteller to finally find a home that’s not my full to capacity brain for all my lore lmao
