I found this gorgeous Green Junebug the other day.
Alas, it was deceased, but it was still a gorgeous creature, and worthy of collecting.
Green June Beetle (Cotinis nitida)

Cotinis nitida
Green june beetle
12 of August 2022 — Maryland, USA
The coloring looks funny because it was so bright outside, but these little guys are a beautiful iridescent green. They are unfortunately known for causing fruit damage when feeding, and they feed on many species of fruits, such as apples, pears, berries, peaches, etc.
They are commonly confused with Cotinis mutabilis which lives in the southwestern USA, so just double check if you find one :O
Green June Beetle taking off in slow motion!
these r the only pictures i got of the green june beetles and i feel lucky to have gotten any at all. they did not want me within a couple yards of them unfortunately. i did get to see a pair actively mating while a 3rd tried to butt in earlier but alas i didnt have a camera then
when you try to take a picture of a beetle that will not stop flying around, this is the best you can get for now
