Because sometimes we all just need to see a guy head-bump a beautiful Beluga whale
Note: that is not a lumberjack!!! Most likely it is a domesticated marine biologist, possibly a domesticated fisherman, (you can tell because it has been clothed in wool, which stays warm when wet, so it is is clearly well cared for).
While this may be appropriate enrichment for your DOMESTICATED and WELL TRAINED marine biologist or fisherman, please remember that lumberjacks may be tame, but are not domesticated. They are still wild, and they absolutely will freak out if they see you swimming around in their forests.
did you write this notice for the belugas or
Who else would I write it for? It’s not like orcas care about ethical wildlife photography.
As a former timber harvester, this is accurate! While I’m not sure if the individual in the photo is a lumberjack — parallel evolution has resulted in similar plumage across several outdoor species — the point remains.
We lumberjacks can become tame with frequent socialization, but we are not a domestic species. We do not spook often, but when we do, the phrase “bison panic” is a good description.
This tamed individual has clearly been well and frequently socialized with a variety of species so that it can gladly accept the kindness of a sea canary.

“Fat people are promoting obesity” why do we never talk about skinny people promoting eating disorders then?
Edit before people start clowning:
People constantly tell fat folks that they're “promoting obesity.” Whether they're discussing body positivy and/or fat liberation, whether they're filming a grwm, or whether they're (God forbid) posting about food, fat people are constantly met with those kinds of remarks, to the extent that it has lost any original meaning it might've had. It has simply become a cudgel with which to beat fat people out of public life.
Meanwhile, there are upteen billion wellness influencers, fitness coaches, and celebrities pushing the latest fad diets, calorie restriction, and whichever supplements pay them them most, as well as the latest miracle weight loss surgeries, pills and injections. Extreme weight loss is being glorified and disordered eating is being splattered across social media rn, yet the people who are so concerned with fat people and obesity are curiously silent on this. This, in spite of the fact that eating disorders, extreme weight loss and malnutrition also have severe health repercussions, if you survive them at all.
Fat people are told they're “promoting obesity” just for existing, while extreme weight loss is being simultaneously normalised. The double standard is deafening
[ I am not posting this looking for a debate, so if you leave an argumentative comment or just seem like you've missed the point, I'll ignore you. I'm not interested in proving to randos on the internet that my own damn experiences have happened ]
