A few days in Aberdeen, Scotland. June 2026.

It was interesting exploring the maritime and art museums learning about the city's complex history and relationship with colonialism, the oil industry, and the ocean.

I arrived in Glasgow and thought it must be the center for alternative and Japanese fashion. So I was like cool I can dress however I want and not stand out. Then I learned there was a My Chemical Romance concert and anime convention happening.

One day in Dundee, Scotland. June 2026. We visited art exhibitions and the V&A Design Museum. The Design and Disability exhibit was particularly meaningful for me. I don't know that I've ever seen experiences like mine expressed in art, in person before.

Goodbye Edinburgh (June 2026)

My hair since coming to Scotland. Everyone else's hair looks PERFECT, but between the wind and the humidity and rain, I look like a mess.

I wanted to make a video diary of our time in Edinburgh, but when I was going through the footage, it looked more like a diary of my treatment-resistant ADHD.

My partner: "Look at these pants. These would belong to... uhh what's her name? The slutty version of Namine."

Me: "uhhh what"

Partner: "Kairi! Kairi would wear these pants."

My partner and I have been watching all the Alien and Predator movies together. While I was delighted to show him the Alien Monster High Skullector doll, I was so disappointed they didn’t have a Predator one, so I guess I have to do everything myself. (Though it will be several months until I have access to my art supplies, so it’s going to be a long time until I can actually make this.)

Finally got around to replacing my broken camera. What happens if you mix these two presets up?

Got a thrift store grab bag because I saw a Magic Mixie and some Yugioh Sanrio collab plushes in it. I’ll wash the mini Squishmallows and give them to the cats. Calliope was so excited when she saw me digging through the bag, she wanted to play with them immediately. Our cats are sweet, they don’t destroy their plush toys, they just like to carry them around and bop them at each other.

Two longhorn bees sleeping in a yellow crownbeard flower. I’d aways seen photos of bees sleeping in flowers together but never thought I’d come across it myself. I feel so lucky!

Look at this gorgeous little Six-spotted Orb Weaver (Araniella displicata) I saw!

A new addition to the feral cat colony. She’s very friendly and we were able to adopt her out rather quickly.
