By the Fire

Adah was sitting near the fire and watching as everyone talked and moved around the bonfire. It was freezing out, but she couldn’t help but enjoy the closeness of it all. Even if doubt was creeping into some of her beliefs, she could still at least believe in the family that was made here in the Cirque, right? “Bonfires have always smelled very lovely to me,” she said as she heard someone settling into the spot next to her.

“I couldn’t find any more hot chocolate, and I just thought....Wait, why are you looking at me like that?” Eli blinked and looked up from her seat, curled up on a small cushion near the bonfire.

Hot Chocolate

“I know it is cold out. But I thought some hot chocolate would be well with the fire, yes? I have plenty to share,” she offered, holding out a cup of the warm beverage.
