Yeah found family is cool but have you considered Lost Family. your brother who time travelled away while your sister died, your father who left you in the divorce but took your sister, your parents and lovers who were killed when you and your sister refused a villain, your older sisters who don't consider you anything more than a tool so maybe there's nothing else you'll ever be, your niece her father traded away because he couldn't bear to raise her without your dead sister, your father who was presumed dead and came back alive yet never came back for you, your mother and her seven other children who will never care for you like your late father did, the parents you thought you had but who raised you for money, your siblings who fled your father's castle to live as far away from you as possible, your aunt who gave you away as soon as someone else wanted you, your son whom you abandoned because you feared the power he had over you, your mother who haunts your house like a ghost because no one there returned her love, your half-sister who prefers her maternal relatives to her father's family, your father who is bound to kill or be killed by you, your daughters who never wanted the love you gave them because you couldn't give them power, your brother who stood by when you were engaged to someone you never knew. your dead parents your dead siblings your dead wife your dead children who all killed each other the moment you turned away to grieve.

He can fix her. She deserves it.

Actually, the truth is that she is very vulnerable to abusive partners and. which. you know. Harken sort of is.

But also ngl how are you going to get Titania OR Harold on your side if you're pulling HER

Which kind of does imply that they only happen if Harken genuinely falls for Dorothy. Which is a good thing for her! probably!

He can fix her hand and bring her to his creepy crazy castle where she can make all of the music she wants. Until either of them grows sick of it and Dorothy dies under circumstances that are never explained. just like Lilith before her (nooo that was old age! obviously!)

I guess she could die happy, which is better than what she had with Harold 😭

Trope: Slow Burn. but like. burn burn. they are glowing at first, then spark a small flame, which does grow into an all-consuming fire eventually killing them both. yeah

I love that that most main characters in these books are either children or single adults. or an adult in a dysfunctional relationship. You can really hc every sexuality for these people

Tanc and Tracy kissed, but they make such good comphet because of the tropes they embody

Lauren and Lysander also can be hced as comphet, but more as in they thought they needed to date because they were such good friends

The Thunderbird handholding scene kind of robs them of their plausible deniability but the canon teen crushes are all so low-key that I think you can get away with pretending they weren't there for a fic. same for Charlie and Matilda (or Dagbert)

Most of the kids do of course have two parents in a het relationship, but we're never shown much of how those work beside Amy and Lyell

Mr. and Mrs. Gunn could just be good friends who thought they should hook up because of it. Mr. and Mrs. Silk could divorce and I wouldn't be surprised. The Torssons and Sages seem functional though

I would fully accept that Harold had never loved Dorothy, and Venetia and Natalia could also full on be compheting

Treasure and Pearl's "sweetheart"'s genders aren't specified

and Katya, Christopher, Alice, Eustacia, Lucretia...

We never see Ezekiel and his wife. or James. Or Maisie's husband. just saying.

also. if they ever adapt cotrk, they should keep it that way. no romantic relationship drama for these kids let them fight the generational trauma. that's enough
