Finished! Rose Window Stained Glass Crazy Mini Quilt. All hand sewn and hand embroidered. Thanks @cottonkhaleesi for the inspo and sending me some additional fabric! I think it’s about 1′ 9″ in diameter or so. No purchases made, all scrap and on hand materials including poly/cotton bias tape with a copyright date of 1983. Maybe not the best choice because it was leaving black dust on my hands while I was working with it. But oh well, it's done!
EDIT: Won best hand quilted item at the 2023 Dutchess County Fair!

Wasn’t sure this was gonna work, as always with a grabbag of mystery yarns one can never really know how they’ll react to the wet blocking that gives a tam or beret its shape, plus throwing some mystery fuzzies in there for good measure….. happy to report the black was where I ran out of my mystery navy as if by design.
Also a moment of silence in recognition that I was so close to winning yarn chicken with the light blue 🥲
One sock done!
Guitar strap all strapped up! Another Christmas present done and dusted 🎸
Red figure / black figure 🧦
The socks have all ends woven in! Absolutely had to add my favourite pottery embellishments to the toe with duplicate stitch and whilst they may take a little bit of wriggling to get on, the adjustments I made worked well enough that they are comfortable on my feetsies. Now to wait for the cooler weather because I am not putting socks on my feet in this heatwave🥵
Which one do you like the most?
Excited and scared to try this: two-at-a-time toe-up inside-out-knit socks.
Yes, what currently looks like a monstrosity is in fact two sock toes knit on the same needles at the same time. Even better is the opportunity to try out my new dpn project holder:
No more holes poked in bags or stitches forcefully ripped off needles!!
It fits!! (Thank the gods) the sister this is knit for is a uk size 12 but less chesty than dear old dotty the dress form (who fits 12-16 uk sizes on her) which means this’ll be a nice comfy sweater once it’s blocked.
Obligatory colours shots:
I’m going to celebrate by not touching the sleeves for a while because a) the pattern wants to try and match on the sleeves and I’m like 👀 that’s going to be a lot of paying close attention 👀 and b) seems to think using 4.75 circs for just under 60 stitches in the round is acceptable (it’s not. The needles are as long as half the stitches. It’d be so fiddly no thank you!!) so I’ll take a trip to Hobbycraft at some point this week and get myself some 5mm dpns and try again then.
