are the pockets of the couch jackets always empty, or can stuff be in there?

Oh yeah, there can be stuff in the pockets. To date, Reader has found:

1 dusty blue bandana

7 whoopee cushions one with a tear in it (all from the same jacket)

One joy buzzer, nonfunctional

A bag of chisps, contents completely obliterated

5 whoopee cushions (from 5 different jackets)

One bone attack, sharp. Cut your finger and stung for a while.

A zip lock bag of lasagna (indescribable)

A foil wrapped burrito, still warm

Cigarette pack, empty

I’m not saying that if the weewoo show writers wanted us to become a cult we would become a cult, but we would definitely become a cult.

Cause like…. The kitchen as the set of important stuff was always out there, and you can see it in most fanfic - hell, these two himbos keep on getting together in their kitchens in my stories and I’m not even doing it on purpose.

AND THE FUCKING COUCH. We used it so much even before this metaphor was out there it’s not even funny. I WAS NOT DOING IT ON PURPOSE.

Oh. The couch wasn't brought to NM's castle... right? Not that I remember.

Are there people out there in the multiverse who look for the couch? Maybe like... some Lara croft-like sans who goes scavenging for multiversal relics? Is there a 'Legend of the All-Giving Couch'? This needs to be expanded on. (Multiversal nerd mode: on.)

Omg is there like. An au that's an interuniversal huh kind of like the Omega Timeline or Ccino's Cafe that has a 'lost and found' box that is just full of jackets that have been birthed out by the couch? Or maybe there's a whole facility that has multiple jackets found in the couch snorted by au type??? Are there multiple couch scattered around the multiverse, being there since the creations of aus, since sanses existed?? Is there a Council of Couches???? DO THEY GET MONOPOIZED??????

There is technically only one couch.

Wait, do the jackets come out the couch when various sanses and whatnot die? Because there are some items that made me think that. The bandana probably from a genocice underswap, a bone attack kept ready in his pocket to attach when a sans fell asleep during the fight, maybe? And the whoopie cushions, one of which could have teared in the attack that ultimately killed him. From yoru description, though, none of the jackets themselves are torn...

The Couch has no criteria for when and where a jacket comes from, only that there can not be a standard occupant of the clothing at the time.

can you feed the couch stuff?? like could we be using this couch as a trashcan/storage, or does it just dispense stuff?

You can stuff things under the cushions, but it's kind of a toss-up on if the couch accepts them.

It mostly just spits out jackets but will reliably take the batteries out of your remote if you lose it in the cracks. Not the remote. Just the batteries. Every. Time.
