BRIEF FOUR.

Something else I wanted to experiment with on these cards is the idea of counter-forms, within the shape of the ‘O’ within the word ‘ONE’. This would be a way to add another level of interest to the cards, to showcase what the card is all about. Above I have just put together a selection of different counter-form examples to show how they can be used effectively. Some are as simple as removing the shape of the letter from another, as shown with ‘dots’, and others are more complicated where the letter has actually been turned into another object, such as the ‘S’.

I am not too sure how this idea will work because of the fact the font I have chosen for the ‘ONE’ on my cards is quite long and thin, therefore this doesn’t allow much room for experimentation. In the next blog post I will show how I have experimented with this idea, and whether I think it works or not.
