SHE'S SUCCUMBING TO THE EFFECTS OF INFECTION. it's becoming difficult to keep going the more time passes , intense pain originating from her stomach and the fatigue that accompanies it easily overwhelm her. sherry's feeling weaker now , her breathing heavy and labored. she's slumped against a wall with knees pulled up to her chest and keeping her eyes tightly closed.
the girl struggles to properly register his words , let alone give a proper response. the only thing she can do is offer pained whimpers as her hands clench into a fist , attempting anything to somehow lessen the aches. nothing works. “ i-it ... it hurts ... ” she eventually speaks , opening her eyes to glance up at him. “ am i going to ... ? “ die. that last word is unspoken , as if she fears it’ll be true if she says it.

STAY PUT , TWO WORDS THAT MAKE SHERRY VISIBLY ANXIOUS. feral creatures stalk the dimly lit halls for their next victim , and she fears being left alone. by the time she manages to protest with a weakly mumbled “ but --- “ , he’s already gone , becoming nothing but a faint silhouette the further away he gets. sherry’s grip tightens around the handle of the knife he’s given her as if it were a lifeline. she hasn’t used it yet , hopefully she never will.
blue eyes nervously scan the area while silent attempts are made to reassure herself. he’ll be back soon. he won’t leave me. i’ll be okay. these thoughts are easily drowned out by intrusive images of monsters waiting around every corner flooding her mind , and it takes nothing but the distant sound of a falling object to make the girl run. her own footsteps echoing down the hall making it seem as if something else is getting closer , only further agitating her.
before long , the child catches up , bumping into a figure that hardly moves. in her panicked state , she takes a few cautious steps backwards to put distance between them. a brief glance reveals her companion’s skull mask , and a sigh of relief escapes her. she used to be scared by it , but the familiar sight of that mask calms her now.
i told you t' stay put. there’s a certain look on sherry’s face that she attempts to conceal by keeping her head lowered , the typical look of a guilty child when they’re being scolded by their parents. “ i heard a noise , and ... i-i got scared. “

The shout was just barely heard amongst the other noise around the men. Sometimes he was amazing what training could do to a man’s senses. Anyone else would have been overloaded with the hail of bullets, the rumble of the engine, and the yelling from other parties. And with the yelled demand, instinct took over. Hands moved as if on their own and gripped the wheel in front of the other with a steel grip. Questions weren’t asked as to why he needed to talk the wheel from the man in the driver’s seat but he’d be lying if they weren’t forming in his head. Instead, Nick chose to do what was asked and observe in the process. After all there had to be a plan, right?
If you had asked Commander Reyes the day before that he’d be working along side Task Force 141, he’d just wave you off. To him, even if they were a special ops task force, they were a different level. Yeah the SEALs were elite but most guys in that task force did time in their respective elite forces. That was why he didn’t turn down the chance to work alongside them when the assignment came knocking on his team’s door. This level of combat was expected and with that he now felt he had that brief window came to pass for him to even think of asking a question. “No what?!” He asked, shouting back over the chaos.
i have nothin constructive to say other than the fact that i really enjoy how, instead of purely writing jill's response and keeping things very contained in that sense, you venture into jill's perception of the muses she INTERACTS with and include her being aware of THEIR thoughts as well as her own which makes her appear more 3d rather than just 2d and i love it. proper job, lovin everything so far mate !!
thank you so much. i really do try to emphasize on her compassionate? side? like she cares a lot for other people and mostly puts them before herself ( not jut because of her job ) and that means being very aware of their feelings / emotions and how they portray themselves to her. i could talk FOREVER about that honestly. thanks so much for reassuring me i’m doin something right !!!
