The White Queen + Outerwear
Nizam of Hyderabad Necklace
The Nizam of Hyderabad necklace worn by Queen Elizabeth II, Catherine, Princess of Wales, and Margaret, Countess of Snowdon.
—
It was a wedding gift to Princess Elizabeth on her wedding from the last Nizam of Hyderabad, Asaf Jah VII (1886–1967), in 1947.
The set was personally selected by Princess Elizabeth, as the Nizam was in India and could not attend the wedding.
He left the instructions with Cartier that Princess Elizabeth should select a wedding gift herself.
The Nizam’s entire gift set for the future Queen of the United Kingdom included a diamond tiara and a matching necklace, with a design based on English roses.
—
Designed in 1930, the necklace consists of a long chain of 38 diamonds (the original necklace had 46 diamonds) with a diamond-encrusted snap based on platinum.
The centre of the necklace is pave-set with detachable double-drop pendant 13 emerald-cut diamonds and a pear-shaped drop.
As per Hugh Roberts, author of Queen’s Diamond:
"The original design purchased by Cartier in 1937 featured a central pendant of three drops flanked each side by two pendants of two drops.
Nine drops were subsequently removed to design a head ornament (not part of the set Princess Elizabeth selected), and the necklace in present form came into existence in 1936.”

There is a picture of Elfrida Greville, Countess of Warwick (1887-1943), wearing the necklace in sometime 1930s.
How did this beautiful jewel end up with the Stunning Countess remains a mystery.

Life if beautiful.
Photographs of Daisy Greville, Countess of Warwick, dressed as Marie Antoinette for the Devonshire House Ball in 1897.
"... bodice and paniers of pink and gold flowered brocade and gold lace studded with silver sequins and diamonds, the square-cut neck trimmed with old lace, and chiffon sleeves divided into small puffs with gold lace sparkling with jewels; diamond rivieres were festooned across the front of the bodice. The petticoat was of white satin draped with chiffon scarves edged with gold and sequin lace. The regal train of turquoise velvet was lined with the same and embroidered all over at equal distances with raised gold fleur-de-lis, and fastened on each of the shoulders with gold cord". I wanted to do an edit about Richard Neville and Anne Beauchamp since forever, i love them in their few scenes and looks at the other 😍
They got married in 1436, Anne was 10 years and Richard 8, but they were betrothed when Warwick was six years (so in 1434).
I think that they loved each other even if, as many other, they hadn't choice on who they would marry because they were just children.
In the first pic there's a phrase written by me (it sucks probably 😅) and in the second a quote from the song "Goodbye my lover" by James Blunt
