So umm...Hello! Is there a non-awkward way to announce that you’re back after two years? Well if there is...I can’t think of it, but ...here I am. *yawn, stretch, climb out of coffin*.
Many people have asked why I didn’t finish Counting Stars and why I took it down. Simply put, hate was the reason. Hateful posts, reviews, and emails. Paired with pre-existing insecurity about my writing resulted in a ball of dangerous self hate and equally de-habilitating panic attacks. But after a little over a year and a lot of self growth, I’ve decided that...
So. I am announcing my return both to the fandom and back to Counting Stars. I’m assuming their aren’t many readers out there anymore. But I cannot leave the story unfinished. Thanks to the wonderful geniewithwifi I have begun the journey of re-editing the original story. This journey started...today. I’m not even through with chapter one yet. However, with her wonderful support and promise to beta, the re-edited version of the original story will be back on Ao3 soon. After that you should expect an update about every other week.
There are some other things in the works too. A new and improved tumblr where should you expect directors commentaries, conversations with my bestie and my beta, extra content, dialogue teases and more. I have a lot of exciting (well for me anyway) plans.
I once heard Amanda Konkin say that the most important thing we could is foster community. Thats what I aim and want to do. That being said....I need some help. I’m looking for tumblr design help, fanart for the story and chapter covers, fanartists willing to work on story extras (the label for Tommy’s wine, Laurel’s business etc), narrators willing to record audio of the story and more.
