A True Friendship

"Friend", a six-letter word equivalent to a chosen family. Despite this, there is a major difference between a friend and a true friend. It is up to us to find that true of a friend or maybe even friends, if we get lucky. Our question is- does friendship only mean sharing things and talking to each other? No. Friendship is a commitment; a promise to always be by their side. We suggest that if we can't keep that promise, we mustn't call that person our friend in the first place.

A true friend is one who sticks with us through thick and thin, accepts us for who we are, embrace our changes with open arms, do the craziest things with us, and knock some sense in us if we go wrong. A true friend is like a silver lining to our dark sky. With a true friend, hours of silence feels comfortable. They understand what's going on in our minds by just one look. We can be fake in front of the world, but not that person. Someone who knows us inside out, who trust us, who we trust, who is too close to us to let go, who we want in our lives forever, that person is our true friend. Our life is incomplete without the bond of friendship, but when we choose, we must choose wisely. A big group usually doesn't give us as much as happiness as a small circle of true friends give us.

The word friend, though short carries a million feelings and emotions of love and gratitude. It is a piece of cake to call someone our friend, but just as hard to commit to it. Look back and think, how many people have we called our friend before? uncountable right? Do we still talk to most of them? Forget that, do we even think of them?

It's human nature to make promises which you are unable to keep. It might seem like that person is ignoring you, but are they really? For all we know, they could be waiting for your call or even a simple text. Honestly, don't keep them waiting, that one notification from you could mean a lot to them. It might even make their day. A true friend is worth everything, keep them close.
