do they sell custom shells? like skulls? and can they fit on humans?

Sure, shells come in all shapes in sizes, just like the clothes you humans buy in clothing departments, and they can be custom made for the potential wearer.

Stores sell ones they call "courage shells" for tourists and other people interested in the koopa lifestyle. But Mario made some somewhat effective use of them as armor during our adventure.

Meg: Hi, Koops. I have a question. Does this Shell belong to anyone? *pulls out a Courage Shell*

Hmm...? [looks at shell] Oh, I don't think that's anyone's shell in particular. [points to shell and explains] That looks like one of those cheaper models we like to sell in our shops to non-koopas, kinda like how toads sell their hat mushrooms to non-toads. Shopkeepers call 'em "Courage Shells", 'cause wearing one gives an extra bit of protection and--supposedly--a boost in courage.
