Does "the last day to enrol with the permission of the instructor is" basically mean that even if the class is full and we are unable to enrol through REM, we can still enrol in the course if we speak to the professor? Sorry I just wanted to clarify and thank you!
No, it means that you can still enroll in the course if the professor gives you permission, but there has to be space available. They can’t just put you in a full course when there’s no space.

I am not sure what to do. I emailed the prof who's teaching the course I want to enrol in (the class is full) and he said to try enrolling and if I can't enrol by the 24th, I would have to get his permission, as well as the TA's. However, if I wait until then to do that and exchange that course with one of the courses I currently have but want to drop, I will be charged. Do you think I should drop that course now and then wait to see if I can get into the other course? I just need advice. Thanks
If you don’t want to get charged then don’t wait too late to change the course. You can always do courses during the summer session as well. Also, even if enrollment can occur with the permission of the instructor, that does not mean you’ll get into the course. You can ONLY enroll in the course if there’s actually space available.

Hey so I've been pretty stressed lately. I dont have enough credits to be considered a second year student (3 credits short) but recently I was looking at the courses I need to take next year and the pre requisite for all of them was second year standing or by permission of the instructor. Do u think its likely that the prof will allow me to take the course? And how does one go about getting permission from the instructor
To get permission from the instructor you would need to talk to the professor, so you might have to wait till September. I would suggest talking to your program department when you need to enroll in F/W courses, perhaps they can help you.

No, you should email the department after your enrollment date because they only open the enrollment window for a short period of time. In other words, they won’t keep the course open for you for days just so you can enroll on your enrollment date.
You can’t email professors for course enrollment right now, only departments.

I read the 'course full' tag.. and you responded to someone saying that if a course is full, you can't email the department because if the class is full, it's full.. but then you responded to someone saying "it's too early to email the departments because of the strike". so under normal circumstances, would I be able to email the prof or department and see if there's any way to get into the class? Or if it says full, than that's matter of fact and I can't do anything about it??? Thanks! :)
The second answer was D’s not mine, and about the first answer; if the course is full you can still email the department if you want, but you most likely won’t get in until someone drops the course (I’m positive I added that in).
Currently, you can email the department and ask for permission to enroll if there’s still free space (I’ve already done so and was successful). However, if the course is full - again, you’re free to email but the department can’t enroll you into the course till someone drops it and space becomes available.

SOOO.... My enrolment day for summer is March 19th :/ and I went to look at my courses I can choose, and they said full for some!! When my enrolment day comes up, and I try to enrol in those courses and it says it's full (which it probably will) how would I go about trying to get into that course? Just email the department (ex. MODR department) and say what?? thanks in advance!! :) :)

is there some format i'm supposed to follow when asking for department permission to enrol in a course? or do i just shoot them an email saying "hey can i take this"?
There’s no format, just type up an email requesting permission to enroll in the course you want, that’s it. Remember to include your full name and student number as well.
