[Wentworth Miller, cisgender male, he/him] OSBOURNE ‘OZ’ JONES is on the isle. The EARTH DRAGON is a 872 year old ARBITER OF DISPUTES which fits them well. They’re easily THOUGHTFUL AND BRILLIANT, which is quite in contrast with them being ILL-TEMPERED AND PRICKLY. They’ve been on the isle for OFF AND ON FOUR OR FIVE CENTURIES, but I wonder how they’re handling the current situation.
Hello all, I’d like to introduce you to my ancient Earth Dragon, Osbourne Jones, as follows:
Name: Dragon name is unpronounceable to humans and most other species. Was named Osbourne by a previous mate. Became known as Osbourne Jones when surnames became a thing a few centuries ago.
Age: 872 (give or take a decade. he does tend to lose track)
Species: Dragon
Element: Earth
Offspring: None surviving
Mate: None currently
To his knowledge, Oz is the oldest surviving Earth Dragon. Given that they tended to nest in caves and other places made accessible to humans (rather than volcanoes or deep under water like some of the other elements), they had a shockingly high mortality rate. Human beings were terribly clever after all when it came to killing things.
After losing his last mate, he retreated to Valengeaux for some peace. Valengeaux has restored some of his spirit. He settled in a comfortable cave system and above was a cliff side home for his human shape. It wasn’t large but the view was quite lovely. After a century or two of solitude, he took up a position in the community in order to pass the time.
While known for his taciturn ways, he was scrupulously fair. Even the humans did not mind having a dispute arbitrated by him since regardless of species, he made his decisions in accordance with the laws as set down and the contracts as written. He was fair. He wasn’t nice per se but he was fair.
Oz was not pleased with the changes being wrought on his island home. He didn’t tend to involve himself in these kinds of matters but he had come to Valengeaux for peace, for quiet, and to allow himself to live out his remaining centuries. Woe to anyone wishing to shift him from his complacency.
To his knowledge, none of his offspring had survived to adulthood due to ill timing or the cruelties of humans. There were times when he longed to feel that sensation again but surely he was too old for such things.
