Cole is defiantly not Straight
With the release of the new short story people have pointed that if Cassidy was straight then Pharah would have told Baptiste so he wouldn't get his hopes up. I've also seen an argument made that she wouldn't do that because it wouldn't be her information to share.
I believe the first one because of a few reasons. One, Pharah isn't the type of person to give false hope, especially if (in this context) she knows Cassidy is straight. Two telling a person another person in straight is very different from outing a person for being gay, removing that, Cassidy isn't the type character to care what other people think of who he dates. Three, Pharah would have a reason to tell Bap if Cassidy was straight in order to keep Cassidy out of an uncomfortable situation.
In conclusion, if Cassidy was straight Pharah would have told Baptiste. Since she made no move two, we can assume that Cassidy is very much not straight.
