✨🐚Cowry Shells are one of the most powerful symbols of currency, trust, luck, fortune, wealth and mysticism. Used for thousands of years as “shell money” it was most abundant in the Indian Ocean and was collected in the Maldive Islands, in Sri Lanka, along the Malabar coast. These enigmatic shells can be found in countless cultures throughout history, making them one of the most allusive objects on earth. Still used in magical circles and sewn into fancy regalia for both Native American and African tribes, there is no doubt that these shells still hold rank. Carried in pockets and medicine bags for good luck and safe travels or given to young mothers to help encourage a healthy womb, there is a power in these small shells that seem to be much greater than we give them credit for. Perhaps it’s time to take a second look at this mysterious shell and see if she has some secrets she’s willing to tell.✨While I was meditating with these Cowry shells an idea came to me! From now on, I will be tucking a Cowry shell in EVERY parcel from the shop. Once you’ve collected 10 shells, mail them back in exchange for a free candle or incense~it’s up to you!
