Question for fellow Kaveh fans...

I've been thinking lately about our dear architect and I wanted to know what the general consensus is about his relationship with his mother. Like, do most fans want him to see her again?

To me, it seems clear she neglected him during childhood. I know she was grieving for his father, but Kaveh was five when this happened. And she decides to move away to Fontaine with a new man years later. Yes, Kaveh was an adult then, but he actually needed someone during this time due to the intense stress he was under from the Akademiya. But she didn't seem to notice this.

I feel bad for Kaveh because his feelings aren't taken into consideration by a majority of people he meets. An exception, of course, is Alhaitham, who knows Kaveh's character and purposely pushes him to better himself.

If Kaveh's mother really wanted to be part of his life, wouldn't she visit him already? Why does Kaveh have to be the one to go to Fontaine? He already went earlier for the wedding.

So let me know your thoughts about Kaveh and his mother, Kaveh fans - I really want to explore his complex chatacter story

7. How helpful are they with camp duties? Do they do their fair share of chores?

I think Tavv would try to help out with chores. She's used to being part of a team and helping out in a large household, plus she likes helping other people. She'd help Lae'zel and Wyll sharpen weapons (and probably learn more about swords and adventures during this), she'd collect firewood, and probably help stoke the fire just right for cooking. Once Gale piqued her interest, she'd probably help him with the cooking, asking him questions and maybe eliciting interesting stories of his (mis) adventures, leading to burned food and much laughter and annoyance from the others over dinner. Not sure if this is my official headcanon, but I think Tavv might've worked as an alchemist's assistant for a couple years in the Gate (this is my justification for why Tavv is able to collect and process herbs and plants into potions and elixirs). She'd help clean armor and draw water and whatever was needed.

13. Are they modest/shy about bathing in front of others?

Growing up as a bit of an urchin in Baldur's Gate, Tavv is a bit less fussy about modesty. I think there was quite a group of renegade children running about the docks, jumping in the water, swimming in nothing at all. As she got older, I think Tavv developed a bit more of a sense of modesty, if only for the sake of others lol. But a camp beach day? She's not shy about running around camp, soaking wet, in her skivvies for a swim. (Yes there's a fic idea here involving a *very* embarrassed wizard :P ) In terms of actual bathing, she prefers to bathe alone, but I think she'd be cool with bathing with Karlach, especially if that means hot water. I think Tavv develops a sibling-like relationship with Karlach. In terms of the others, idk if she'd be cool with bathing with them. I mean, obviously once she's dating Gale, that happens, but I think mostly not with the others. Not Shadowheart, because bathing with your ex is weird, I think Wyll's too much of a gentleman, she doesn't like Astarion and he'd be weirdly flirty about it, Minthara is a maybe but I think Minthara would be opposed to the idea, probably not Halsin because I think by the time he joins camp Tavv is dating Gale, not Jaheira because it's weird to see your childhood heroes without clothes on, not Minsc because he would do weird and loud narration during bathtime, Lae'zel is a maybe.

18. What are they like around the camp fire? Are they the one telling stories or singing songs? Listening attentively? Refilling drinks? etc.

I think Tavv would be telling stories. Retellings of tales she'd read in books (or maybe just actually reading some excerpts from books she'd gathered along the way), tall tales she'd heard in taverns, dramatic re-enactments of tales from her own life of heists, scrapes, and misadventures. She'd probably join in on group songs or choruses, but isn't really a solo singer. She'd be enraptured by the other's tales of adventure: Lae'zel's tales of conquest and alien worlds, Wyll's tales of adventure, Gale's crazy magic-filled quests. She'd probably ask Gale to read aloud at some point, especially after she started liking him more. Maybe ask for some simple illusion magic for fun. She'd definitely be attentive to those who are injured or hurting or have bad knees. Probably get up and refill Gale's tea without asking, or grab people's plates and place them in the wash bin. She's definitely joining in on an open bottle of wine, but probably not getting wasted, given that there are daily battles to fight. She might be persuaded to bake something for them as a treat, especially if the whole crew needed cheering up. Stargazing and shadow-puppets are not off the table, either.

12. Does your OC enjoy a particular gesture of affection? Does it calm them?

Touch, I don’t know if it’s because he’s an assassin and letting people get that close can be dangerous or because his parents died young (is he touch starved maybe) but in both worlds touch is important to him. When Viago pats his shoulder after a mission or when Ilene grabs his arm to keep him from falling, or Lilya checks on him when he’s hurt or Hugo shakes him in excitement, any little touches make him feel loved.

So any time Harding holds his hand or hugs and hangs on him or sits pressed up close to him he’s just in heaven. Getting to cuddle wrapped around her is peak living to him. (Sex is great and all but have you ever let someone tenderly brush and braid your hair for you? That’s his vibes)

18. What does a lazy morning consist of?

Waking up at like 5am and realizing he can go back to sleep, dozing in and out with Harding rolling around on top of him like she’s the arm of a clock for a few hours until they’re ready to get up and then they’ll sit around in pjs and cook some kind of cursed breakfast together (those pickle pancakes @davrinsleftpectoral talked about? You bet they eat those regularly, peanut butter, mayo, and banana sandwich? Yes.) And then eat it while watching either absolute trash tv reality shows or really silly bad gory slasher movies

6. what is your oc's idea of a Cozy night in?

Hanging out in ratty clothes on the sofa with her feet in Davrin's lap. he's likely working on his monster manual while Cyri interrupts constantly with tidbits from her current serial which in my hc read like soap operas. So there's lots of secret siblings, accidental pregnancy and probably inaccurate depictions of monsters/monster hunting which she reads aloud to him specifically because Davirn can never resist the urge to go on a long ramble about how wrong that is and Cyri thinks this is very endearing (he's writing a letter to the editor)

13. what makes your oc feel safe and secure

I thought a lot about this because the obvious answer to me feels like: "when she has a knife close by" but because these are cozy asks, and I have been thinking about this a lot, I have a different answer.

So in game, Davrin's bed is tucked into that nook there, which means that whoever sleeps on the right side is ctucked against the wall. I've sort of hc that Davrin sleeps on the left, which means that Cyri, when she starts sleeping in there, sleeps on the right. Which is a Big Deal because I think of her as someone who needs an exit strategy, and climbing over someone else's sleeping form, while not impossible, isn't ideal. It also means that she fundamentally trusts Davrin to have her back were something to happen in the middle of the night. So I think that spot, just being tucked between Davrin and a solid wall if the first time she feels safe and secure in a really long time.

19. does your oc prefer early nights or late mornings

Cyri is definitely a late morning kind of girl. I don't think she gets a lot of those, having been in the military and all so sleeping in late always feels like a luxury(:

2. How do they warm up when cold?

Thankfully, he has a warm hunk of an elf to keep him warm almost all the time ;) Kal also has irregular body temp due to his self taught magic, so if he’s cold he’s freezing. So to remedy that before he was close with Davrin involved lots of fire hands (it’s as silly as it sounds— for a few seconds he’ll essentially call forth fire just warm enough to cover his hands and offer instant warmth) but when he’s too tired for that, it’s warm tea, or cider as long as the mug is steaming. Blankets and double socks, too. During his time with the Wardens, if your blanket went missing it was most likely Kal who took it.

19. Does your OC prefer early nights or late mornings?

I think he really likes late mornings, rare as they are. Laying in bed, limbs entwined and watching as Davrin sleeps soundly beside him. He’s truly beautiful, fully resting and relaxed. Before Assan gets too big, he’s at the foot of bed too. Overall it’s peaceful, to just exist for a moment and have nothing in his head but Davrin. They’ll stay in bed like that for a while, too, until Davrin insists they can’t skip lunch too and need to get out of bed. Works 50% of the time!

24. Where does your OC sit of there's not enough chairs at a gathering?

He’ll lean against a wall, or some other piece of furniture. He’s also not against just sitting on the floor, if it’s a less formal setting. I think later on, he’ll sit right across Davrin’s lap too, damn who else thinks otherwise.

8. Does your OC wear pyjamas to bed? Do they have a favorite set?

He does, though it's usually just tank top and loose comfy pants (think those muscle tank tops that have the really big/loose cut arms). So not really a favorite set, but there's one of the tops that's really, really soft dark purple material and he loves that one.

18. What does a lazy morning consist of?

Lots of communing with the Force and reading, several mugs of tea, maybe a walk through a few of his favorite places on Odessen, weather permitting.

23. Does your character have a favourite place to chill?

Yavin 4 stronghold, specifically that little basement room that I think is off that main chamber(?), where there's a little pool and the half-buried statue. It's very hidden and mossy and he loves it. Mo one can find him there except Nadia, Lana, Theron, and Arcann bc they know him too well. xD (also they know if he's there he wants to please be left alone. Three guesses who's the worst about respecting that.)
