CPDRC Dancing Inmates or the CPDRC dancers is a collective of prison inmates in Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC), a maximum security prison in the Philippines where the prisoners perform dance routines as part of their daily exercise and rehabilitation, and many of their performances are filmed and released online, making them a popular feature among fans and veritable online celebrities.

Posted in 2012, the CPDRC inmates' performance of Korean pop sensation Psy's "Gangnam Style" has attracted over 5 million views.  Much like CPDRC's performance of Michael Jackson's "Thriller," YouTube facilitated the extreme virality of Psy's "Gangnam Style" (with over 1.8 billion views) and the many renditions that followed. The performance of “Gangnam Style” by the CPDRC prisoners brings together these two Internet viral phenomena.

Wenjel and Chrisanto

The two of them had been my favorite since the very first time I watched their live performances. Last month, the trigger-happy-me caught Wenjel on his-her new costume and stilleto sandals while being chased by zombies. Here's also some photos where i caught him changing shoes... as fast as those coffins being hurled on the first part of the Thriller Dance. They both have nice acting too. If ever makagawas ni sila kay pang-Wowowee jud ni sila. For this Christams, all the inmates in CPDRC would be receiving P1T each as cash gift from the governor for being included in the TIME Magazine's most watched video. So Merry Christmas and a happy new Year nlng ninyong duha, Wenjel and Chrisanto... Note: The following photos were taken last November 29 during the visit of Galing Pook...

I invited Mama and Jash to watch the inmates in their SINULOG performance last January 18... Three-year old Jash was so excited to see the "zombies" and he even hugged Wenjel. Cute.
