Not to shout into the void purposelessly, but I have another badly informed critical role theory. It should be noted I have a very very surface level understanding of most if not all dnd and critical role lore. But like I’ve been watching some stuff about Baldur’s Gate 3 and, again, I have a very superficial understanding of the lore. But the moving city sounds like a Mind Flayer ship to me. Cuz they are from the astral sea and they had these huge ships or smth. And Lucien and his buddies kinda sound like they have the little larva things in their heads so that they can communicate with one another via that shit. Cuz that’s kinda smth the protagonist in the game can do with their party I think. Also the crazy nonsense words Vess said sound pretty archaic and astral sea-y to me. Either I’m preaching to the choir or I’m a dumby who is making connections where there aren’t any but who knows.

Lots of talk in the CR fandom about parasocial relationships and various forms of toxicity and I’m not nearly smart enough to know about any of that, but I’ll throw in these two cents:

The internet is not a void. It can feel like you can scream into it all you want with little to no effects but that isn’t always true. There’s people on the internet, people who hear you, people who you will inevitably be hurt by claiming that a ship is toxic just because there’s an age gap between two consenting adults or that a random chance encounter that happened to end in a character having years of her life taken from her was really an attempt to age her up to be shipped with.

You can be disappointed or upset or even angry that something you wanted to happen is not happening, but don’t forget that when you use that emotion to attack others on the internet, there are people who hear that. Sometimes those people are Matt or the other cast and sometimes it’s just someone who read why their favorite ship is toxic and if you ship them you are also toxic. 

Either way guy, don’t forget to love each other.
