And Trent is a notorious manipulative son-of-a-bitch, good at convincing people he’s trust worthy and correct even though he’s clearly a piece of slime given human form. Essek is the loneliest bitch living in the wastes of the god war, it is not nearly as difficult as it should be given his position to get him to show his hand because he’s so alone that he’s absolutely chomping at the bit to be able to talk about it with someone. And offering shit like this is how Trent gets people under his fuckass wings. So, unfortunately, regrettably, Essek “Lord Lord from Around” Theylss would tell Trent all that.

fellas I have seen multiple people from my high school and college days who I would call "intelligent and academic" get persuaded by mlm agents, pyramid schemes, far-right conspiracies, and abusive one sided relationships.
Of course Essek would divulge all that he could to Trent. He was a like minded individual after all, all for the pursuit of the knowledge of magic.
