Loving you isn’t some fucking chore. It’s not a weight around my neck, not something I have to suffer through. You think you’re hard to love, but you don’t get it. You don’t understand that loving you is the easiest thing I’ve ever done.
I mean what can I say. 🤷♀️ this was utter perfection, and the fact that CR Jane teased us with two more possible books as me panting for more like the sucker that I am. Because now I just need a Asher book (even though I think just like Logan that baseball is boring) and a Colt book. You can’t tease us like that, it’s really not fair.
But in all seriousness this one hit me the feels so bad, and thank god for the Circle of Trust breaking up some of the super heavy stuff. And this is my warning to turn back now if you don’t want possible spoilers, but I’m going to try my best to leave this as spoiler free as possible.
Logan is such a fucking sweetheart. He was kind and patient with Sloane. And the way that he talked about her and to her honestly just melted my heart. The scene when he was panting her was so swoon worthy and actually had tears streaming down my face. He was so willing to do anything for her, and I am absolutely positive that if he could have gotten away with murder he would have killed some men. Though I wouldn’t blame him in the slightest.
And sweet sweet Sloane. She was so precious, and I loved seeing her grow into herself and start fighting for herself. Her character was a great example of learning to overcome the abuse and power struggle that come with some relationships. To see her stand up for herself and want better, to start to do the things that feel so impossible to over come. To find true family and friends and take back the power. Her dying her hair the way she wanted for the first time in her life was such a magical moment.
Other random thoughts… Lincoln is for sure Batman, Ari should never ever change, Camden may be the oldest in the group, but mental is just as young as all the rest, and I pray the Disney never stops simping. And I definitely need more content of the Stanley Cupcakes all hang out and having girls night, trading stories and talk about how insane their men are.
I re-read and finished the Twisted series and the Kings of Sin series by Ana Huang last week, and my goal for this week is to re-read and finish the Legacy of Gods series by Rina Kent and the Pucking Wrong series by C.R Jane
The Pucking Wrong Number (The Pucking Wrong Series #1)
C.R. Jane
I vaguely recommend. This was so good at first! I read this with two of my friends and we had so much great commentary throughout the book, until we.. didn’t. Both conflict resolutions were rushed all of a sudden. The build up was absolutely immaculate, had us starting and finishing in the same day. But then there was the climax and it was practically a fade to black. There could’ve been so much more!!! The ending really took my rating to 5 star to a 3 at best and I’m so sad. The segue into the next book for Ari was also terrible and doesn’t even make me interested to read it.
Overall it was a very good storyline. Not as dark as I thought. The conflict resolutions just really need more detail. A few more chapters.
A very promising author with amazing writing skills. I read this in e-book format and had no problems. Keep reading for blurb.
One text to the wrong number…mine…and everything changed.
He won’t tell me his last name, and maybe that should throw up a thousand red flags, but when I’m all alone in a new city and struggling to make ends meet, his texts are the lifeline I’ve been desperate for.
But I never would have answered that text if I’d known that Lincoln Daniels, superstar hockey player extraordinaire was the one sending them.
He’s trying to sweep me off my feet now. He says he’s obsessed.
He wants me wearing his number…permanently.
The question is…is he still the wrong number, or can this hockey god prove he’s Mr. Right?
*Note: Lincoln Daniels is a morally grey antihero who is obsessed with his girl and will do anything to keep her. This is a darker hockey romance.
The Pucking Wrong Number is a hockey romance standalone.
It’s been an entire year. I hope everyone had a good year. I thought I would wrap up the year by looking back at every single book I read in 2021. Honestly, I’m surprised by how many books I read. Not only that but I started reading new genres during the course of this year, though it still is related to fantasy/sci-fi. We’ll see if 2022 is similar in terms of how many books I read. I have a lot…
And for a second, I forgot how strange this all was. I forgot the rules, the walls . . . the constant need to be on guard. In that moment, with his eyes shining as he stared at me like he'd found everything he'd been looking for in life, it felt like maybe, just maybe, this wasn't a trap.
'I know I’ll never stop looking at you like I’m in love, because every time I see you, it feels like the whole world is holding its breath, waiting for you to steal it over and over again.'
'I know I’ll never stop looking at you like I’m in love, because of the way you walk into a room like you own it but still can’t help being a little shy. Somehow, you don’t know you’re the most beautiful thing anyone’s ever seen.'
'I know I’ll never stop looking at you like I’m in love, because of the way you light up a room without even realizing it, like you’re carrying a little bit of the sun with you wherever you go.'
'It’s the way your laugh sounds like it belongs in a song. And the way you look at me sometimes, like I’m worth everything. It’s how you always surprise me—whether it’s with something you say or just the way you see the world—it keeps me on my toes in the best way.'
'It’s the way you let me in, even when you’re scared, like trusting me is a risk you’re willing to take.'
'And it’s the way you make me feel. Like for the first time in my life, I’m enough.'
