Carnage (L.O.R.D.S. standalone) Shantel Tessier

I vaguely recommend. I know it's a standalone but it'd be much better if you read the other four.

I hate to say it, but this one is just my least favorite story in Shantel’s world. The first half was super good and had some amazing 🌶 scenes, but the second half fell a bit flat for me. The conflicts and resolutions were a mess. I didn’t fall in love with either the MMC or the FMC. The emotional connection between them was love-hate-hate/love but the communication was meh. I know that was the point in some parts, but just me personally, it wasn’t enough. The supporting characters were much more interesting than the mains and I’m excited for the next one she writes about them.

The Pucking Wrong Number (The Pucking Wrong Series #1) C.R. Jane

I vaguely recommend. This was so good at first! I read this with two of my friends and we had so much great commentary throughout the book, until we.. didn’t. Both conflict resolutions were rushed all of a sudden. The build up was absolutely immaculate, had us starting and finishing in the same day. But then there was the climax and it was practically a fade to black. There could’ve been so much more!!! The ending really took my rating to 5 star to a 3 at best and I’m so sad. The segue into the next book for Ari was also terrible and doesn’t even make me interested to read it.

Overall it was a very good storyline. Not as dark as I thought. The conflict resolutions just really need more detail. A few more chapters.

A very promising author with amazing writing skills. I read this in e-book format and had no problems. Keep reading for blurb.

A Very Merry Mafia Christmas (Abbs Valley #5) By Ames Mills

I recommend! This novella was the cutest! It was a nice break from the drama of the duets. Full of love and banter and such happy endings. As always, Ames did an amazing job. Keep reading for the blurb.

Sacrifice by Erin Coal Book 1 of the Night Coven Duology

Unsure how I feel about this one. It's not bad but you have to read it and judge it yourself. There were a lot of moments where, as a reader, I was like "???? you're not gonna question that?" to the MC. The storyline itself is good, the execution wasn't the greatest. The character development wasn't as intense as it could've been and the plot twists were underwhelming. But I will be reading the second book because I need to know how it continues.
