Bird #81 - great curassow (VU) [male] [reference image]
Curassows are large gamefowl (up to a meter in length!) in South America, often with funky hair and knobby bits on their beak. These rival roadrunners as some of my favourite creature designs in birds. Some day I'll have to do a female curassow, which are brown with black and white bars - I think they are prettier than the males, but solid black is just more fun to paint.
