“Guess we’ll have to start keeping you close. Can’t have you getting hurt again.” Moon breathed into my ear.
I couldn’t breathe, my face on fire.
“S-sir?”
“You disappeared and came back damaged. That won’t be happening again.” Sun murmured, still holding my chin, keeping me from pulling away.
What was happening? I was just the bar tender? Why did they care? Would it really be that hard to replace me if I were to vanish? Or was it because of the information I’d picked up on?
But this felt like more than that…
They couldn’t… they hadn’t taken interest in me in other ways. There was no chance. But currently Moon was holding my hips, his chest against my back as Sun held my face, his inches from mine.
It looked and felt intimate.
Bubbles were fizzing through my body as I tried not to devolve into a flustered puddle.
They had me trembling, fear mixed in with everything else.
If they got close and then I were to anger them…
“I don’t wish to interrupt, but you do have a meeting-“ the man who’d retrieved me started, but Sun shot him a look.
“Rowen. Be a dear and handle that for us, won’t you?” Sun said and out of the corner of my eye I could see the man in the suit nod.
So that was his name.
“Of course.” Rowen bowed his head slightly then left the speakeasy.
Until this moment, I hadn’t noticed that this place was completely deserted except for myself, the bosses and Rowen. And now it was just myself and the bosses.
“Now.” Sun let go of my chin and I finally looked at him again.
Only to immediately look away from his intense gaze.
“You will not be leaving the premises without clearing it with myself or Moon. Is that understood?”
It was hard to swallow. Were they just toying with my emotions as part of my punishment?
They had to know about my crush at this point.
Or had my disappearance really scared them that much…?
“Y-yes sir.” My voice was a whisper, hard to get out.
“Good.” Sun’s expression softened slightly. Reaching out, he ran his fingers along the bruise on my cheek then down my neck, making my skin tingle and my breath hitch.
“We’ve did try to keep you at arms length for your own good, but you keep insisting on pushing our buttons.”
WAIT. I just realised that I never posted this old batch of hs/cg incorrect quotes (from, like, March this year), with quotes from me and my irls. whoops

I wanted to make SOMEthing for Valentine's Day, but not romance-y. A World Reflected, Brightly, and subsequently, Through a Mirror, Darkly, was on my mind today, and I got the idea for this.
I was Very Happy when Sam finally got to eat them croissants. And very touched when he realised how lucky he was. To be out. Not even to be alive, because that was part of the hell There, but to be out (of the script) and learning to be sane again.
