Lord, help me, I'm back to my bullshit.

While looking back on the BATIM fandom, I completely forgot about a certain fanfic set in the Hell's Studio AU (@doodledrawsthings ). The AU is a lighthearted and humorous take on BATIM, a complete 180 degrees to the Canon. It's my favorite of the AUs.

The fanfic is called Through a Mirror, Darkly, by @crimsiscarlet and it's a crossover between the HS AU and the Canon game. The fic is well written in my opinion and goes into some real interesting interactions between the canon characters and their AU counterparts. It's one of my favorites and I strongly recommend it. It captures the dark and hopeless mood of the canon game while keeping in touch with HS's characters and their reactions to discovering just how bad their world could have gone.

The sequel to the fic, "A World Reflected, Brightly" (still WIP) tells the aftermath of the first story with quite a few stings still to be tied. The doodles I posted are from that, and without contexts are a major spoiler for anyone who hasn't read or finished the first story.

My point is I went back and finally read the whole first story and what the author has for the second, and I really hope they continue it, because it's recaptured my love for the HS AU as well as what the BATIM fandom can do.

I’ve been meaning to draw Sarah again in a more dynamic pose than last time since last time was just about getting her design in general nailed down and now I finally did it!

I’ve long since headcanoned her as the cheerful troublemaker of the two-- not that any of them were much for rules when those rules were in their way, as shown by the fic itself, but Sammy’s got such a stick up his butt sometimes that you gotta have someone there to loosen him up now and again and remind him that being made of 90% anger isn’t much fun. Smile or laugh now and again, you party pooper; it’s good for you.

The tradeoff for this? Sammy’s grumpy and more easily irritated, but if you reach the end of Sarah’s rope, buckle up. You’re in trouble.

I probably wouldn’t have gone for anger first given the idea that she’s the more openly sunny twin (and that I also drew this pose recently, to boot) but then @waruihoshi drew this and. Well. All I could think was ‘Welp she’s gonna tear you a new one.’

The idea that Sam’s father might’ve graduated to physical abuse wasn’t something I hadn’t considered given the bits of his past that we did see but now that it’s basically confirmed it happened I have a mighty need for someone to kick his ass (and I might write something about it someday maybe).

okay soo this is the month of men's mental health awareness,so i though to my self:what better way to represent this month than doing it with my favourite male character of the cracked glass au,canon!henry?who we all know here,it's a man who deals with mental struggles,so it just felt right to pick him over any other character.

so yeah!!let's all give a shoutout to all of our male folks who have to struggle with mental issues on daily basis and let's make them know they deserve all the love and support,because they matter too <3!
