In all honesty, Leia hadn’t been paying attention to her date, she rarely did. Part of her, the part that was her mother’s daughter scoffed at the idea of soulmates. Her mother’s date still had years to go and she found happiness regardless. Leia didn’t need a soulmate to be happy and the idea, that one person could be everything you needed, seemed like a lot to place on someone’s shoulders. But a small part of her, a part that dreamed of being a princess and having adventures, loved the idea of a soulmate. That there was one person made perfectly for you and you were made perfectly for them. Still, she tried not to focus on it too much.
She was focused on a painting right now, one hand holding a glass of white wine. A friend had invited her to a gallery opening and while this particular kind of art wasn’t her style. She was immensely proud of them. She eyed a painting with a Pollack-esque vibe when she felt the skin of her wrist grow unusually warm. Looking down, she noticed the date was today and the minutes were getting closer and closer to what the clock on the wall showed. Her soulmate was here. They were coming. She was finally going to meet them. Damn, she hoped she didn’t look too bad. Draining her wine, she walked quickly to the bathroom to compose herself. She totally wasn’t ready for this.
