Crochet Society Box 47 from CraftStash
I was browsing the crowcore and corvidcore tags last night, and I realised I've kind of been doing this for a long while. I think I'm slightly older than the average tumblr user and not super familiar with these terms!
Most of my shiny things are kept in plain boring boxes and are intended for eventual use in sewing and crafting projects. Some of them were bought, but a lot were found, given to me, thrifted, or scavenged from clothing, jewellery, or items that may otherwise have been thrown away. I save almost everything, and I feel like many crafters probably do the same.
Here's the current state of my boxes. They need a tidy. In fact, after seeing some of the beautiful corvidcore boxes people have made I'm inspired to do one of those for the items I haven't used yet or probably won't use, but that I keep because I like them 😊
Here are some projects that I've used my shiny things for: a jacket I'm currently customising,
The inside of a watch which I turned into a pendant,
A Peter Rabbit 50p which i also turned into a pendant. There were loads of Beatrix Potter commemorative 50ps issued for general circulation in the UK a few years ago, but this was the only one I ever found. My mother in law has almost all of them!
Old keys that are now necklaces or earrings. I have a lot of old keys.
And this is a deconstructed pocket watch. I didn't frame it myself, I bought it from a charity shop, but I think it fits with the aesthetic.
And I feel like this post wouldn't be complete if I didn't show my crow's skull. It's resin but very realistic looking. I received it as a free gift from Hysteria Machine. It's meant to be worn as a necklace but I found it a little annoying as it's very large and heavy and was swinging about all over the place. So now it just sits on my desk.
Wine box design.
I have this box I plan to keep and put stuff in so I want to decorate it. I painted the protoss symbol on it and like how it came out but want more ideas on what to add. I'm thinking some of the Among Us crew mates floating around? Maybe some probes. Kittens? Kittens are cute. Feel free to leave suggestions.
Today in silly things crafters get excited about:
I was watching @rattusrattus3's youtube video where they were decluttering and organising their supplies, and partway through I got up to do the same.
I found a small tin which originally held a zippo lighter (I don't smoke, bought it for a cosplay).
Tins are extremely useful so I never wish to throw them away, however I wasn't sure what I could find to put in it as it was so small, and most of my small items have homes already. Then I found my spare sewing machine needles and feet in a plastic bag which was just loose in my drawer. Here they are in the tin, which I have now also decorated with a sticker. I don't know why I find this one thing so satisfying 😁
And a thing which will save me much annoyance. For reasons known only to my past self, for years I've been keeping my thread snippers and seam rippers in a different box to my thread, which means every time I want to sew something I have to get both boxes. Not anymore!
Here's Rattus' decluttering video if anyone else would like some motivation!

Fake IKEA bonsai!? I must know more!
There's not a ton to say about it. It is as the title--if I can even call that a title--suggests a fake bonsai tree I got at IKEA. It only gets to be on the project list because I thought the pot it came in was boring as hell. So I threw together a different one with one of the good IKEA cardboard boxes and then kinda got bored before it was completely done. Now it lives on my projects-in-progress shelf.
WIP Folder Tag
@thatndginger tagged me for this game (go look at their list and ask questions). Thank you for tagging me!
Rules: Make a new post with the names of all the files in your WIP folder, regardless of how non-descriptive or ridiculous and tag as many people as you have WIPs. People send an ask with the title that most intrigues them, then you post a snippet or tell them something about it!
I don't have a full list of WIP titles like most writers, and I certainly don't have a whole folder devoted to them. I've got the #PA trilogy and anything I tell you about the other two books would be a massive spoiler.
I have a list of Obsidian files. However, every other title would be [redacted]. Not great fun.
Instead, I'll show you my list of projects! I have so many crafts I keep a list of them and this is that.

All of these are currently on pause, and I am unhappy about it. But, sometimes you have to be an adult and can't play with your toys.
I'm gonna leave this an open tag since I'm not actually playing by the rules.
