Hi Lottie! I've been seeing your fashion posts and they're all really pretty!
Thank you! My fashion is a big part of who I am and I put a lot of work into my wardrobe. Here are some other fashion pictures from before I made this account

Crow's skull collar/choker
This crow's skull was a free gift from Hysteria Machine ages ago when I placed a large order. I know it looks very real but it's actually resin, as you can see by the metal loop sticking out so it can be used as jewellery.
When I got it, it was on a long chain but it would swing around loads due to the weight and as well as that being rather annoying I was worried about breaking it, so I took the chain off and since then it's just sat on my desk as decoration.
Recently I thought it would be nice to try wearing it again. I thought if it was on something shorter that it would sit in the right position and stay there much more easily, so I decided to put it on a choker.
I started by putting one of these key-ring rings through the jewellery pin. I also had to turn the pin slightly to make it sit flat, but thankfully I didn't damage either the resin or the pin by doing that.
My initial thought was to wrap the choker fabric around the outer parts of the ring to keep the ring visible as I have on other chokers (see here if you'd like a look at more of these)
But since I don't currently have any velvet ribbon or an old belt like I would usually use, I was making the collar from two strips of denim, so instead I decided I would sandwich the ring between the two layers to hide it completely.
First off I ironed all the edges of the fabric down.
Then I placed the ring on what would be the inner layer and sewed it down with lots of stitches to keep it secure, tying off the thread often. As this is on the inside it won't be seen so it doesn't matter that it's a little messy, and the bit of ring that's sticking out will be hidden by the skull when I wear it.
Usually I would put something like this in my sewing machine but that wasn't really going to be possible with the skull in the way, so I had to go with hand sewing.
I put the two layers together and went all around the outside with invisible stitching. This is where you insert your needle along the fold so when you pull the thread tight you can't see the stitches.
Once that was done I just needed a fastening. You can use ribbon or even a safety pin, but personally my absolute favourite are these heavy snaps. I've posted about them tons before, but I love them because they're easy to insert (not much different than a stud or spike), easy to find at craft stores or on ebay, they're cheap, you can put them exactly where you need so whatever you're making fits perfectly, they're very secure, but they will also break apart under pressure so they're less of a strangling hazard than goth/punk collars with buckles.
The only negative is that you can't really use them in lightweight fabrics unless you reinforce the area where you're inserting them, but for denim, leather and other thick fabrics they're great.
Here's how it looks. I am happy to report that it does sit flat in an aesthetic position rather than swinging around everywhere!
I'm definitely going to decorate it more, I could use spikes but I felt as if I'd like to do something a but different with this one. But it's perfectly wearable now 😁

Since I had to leave the house yesterday, here's the coord. Is this still lolita? Idk. Definitely goth tho. Nearly Victorian too.
I made most of what I'm wearing
I realized when I got home that this is literally how Isobel dresses so I pulled out her hat and wand.
Have I ever mentioned that she holds her wand like a pencil?
Did you like the black and red version more, or this green version?
Honestly, I love both, and I'm just excited to add that quilt label to it later!
Love,
