Reasons I haven’t been active on here lately?
Most of my projects crash and die.
I know, I know, not everything in crafting can always work peachy.
If you follow my main blog’s ig you might know I have this wall of collected items, including embroidery pieces, postcards, a mounted deer skull, a scottish cattle coaster, those things. And I thought to myself, you know what would look rad? Plates. So I ventured out and bought 50 ct white tableware to do things to.
Idea 1) somehow chipping it and adding a crystal effect by filling the cracks with those ikea glass bits I talked about a while ago. They make a great amethyst like effect. But somehow my weak ass can’t break plates now? No, dropping shattered them completely.
Idea 2) some sort of marble effect with maybe a cool quote on top. So I googled nail polish water marble, bought soup containers at the dollar store (which granted did seem a little flimsy) and started the project. First of all: metallics don’t work, so I had to end up dumping my cherished Kiko polishes in there (which for my cheap ass are expensive)- it still came out kind of clumpy, but not suuuuper bad. But now for the terrible part- I’m not a chemist, but the nail polish managed to melt through the pot somehow and ended up flooding my bedroom floor (because that’s where all the cool kids craft) and left my room smelling like a toxic wasteland. Was it worth it? Totally not.
