I gotta know the nature of doom and Barry's relationship now... I love doomry and this is soooo interesting to me
it's... complicated!
barry and doom are not married to each other in this au, just partners. they love each other a ton, but both of them have some fears regarding . being together.
it won't be mentioned outright in the au i don't think, given how the parents don't want to mention the hospital, but barry struggles with fully trusting doom-- given how skull worked for the hospital and was present in the "it never gets better" scene.
despite how much the other comets vocalize their love for him, doom feels as if he doesn't "belong" with them, and that he doesn't deserve them. this is the same for barry, but a little different because of how hesitant barry was to the idea. skull feels guilty. he knows barry loves him, and he loves barry, but he can't forget what he's done. it's easier with the others-- in this au, doom wasn't present for uni or polly's initial "treatments".
having eve helped a little bit... but of course, now there's an issue of conflicting parenting styles. barry strongly believes eve should be disciplined or called out for her behavior in some form, while doom fears that could make her behavior worse.
