If Gale is fire like Katniss, he also needs his water. I would like to propose post-war Gale x Annie to the chat.
Gale runs away from D2 because of all the triggering memories and ends up in D4, and the smell of the sea is the first thing that makes him truly forget the smell of the fires in the City Circle. He's never seen the ocean before.
Annie is pregnant and being taken care of by Asterid. Gale doesn't want to bump into Asterid, but Annie sees him, and comes to say thank you for him being part of rescuing her from the Capitol. He gets tongue tied (you see, he had a celebrity crush on her during her Games).
When Annie has the baby, Asterid makes sure to let Gale know. She can tell they're getting close, but Gale is keeping Annie at arms length. He's nothing like her perfect dead husband (Annie doesn't care. She wants him.)
Gale has younger siblings. He's good with the baby, he helps her adjust to being a parent. She teaches him how to swim. They keep accidentally kissing and having moments, and she forces him to realise that the war is over and they both deserve peace.
It's about healing, it's about agency, it's about two people who both believe they're destructive (Annie calls herself a storm, Gale calls himself a wildfire) finding peace and love in each other.
