During a trip two weeks back to visit my Mother-In-Law so she could see her only grandchild for the second time since his birth in 2010..... Some background.... This woman is toxic. Extremely toxic. Imagine a Stage-Four colonic tumor that became self-aware and developed the gift of speech. Add a bad dye job, and voila... my MIL. In addition to her sparkling personality, she is also insane. BATSHIT insane. She spent a year in the 90s believing that Jon Bon Jovi was stalking her. She spent the last several years believing that her poodle-beagle mix was the reincarnation of JFK. Here is just one of our soul-destroying conversations from this most recent trip.... MIL: Everywhere I go, people dislike me on sight. That’s because they’re all Antisemitic. You know that, right? Everyone that dislikes me, it’s because they are Antisemitic. ME: Mom? You are NOT JEWISH!!!!!

I noticed my ex MIL unblocked me on Facebook, She has stalked me in the past online and irl. She has also used other people to gain access to my posts, so I deleted my Facebook. Guess who's straight up crashing tf out right now because she can't stalk me or make anyone else stalk me?💀🤣

I literally don't understand

So the crazy MiL just yelled for me while she was in the bathroom. We're in our bed room eating breakfast and no one else is home. The door is shut and like I said there's no one else home. She yells for me because she forgot to grab a towel and has just gotten out of the shower. The towels are literally right outside the bathroom door yet apparently she has lost the ability to move or something and requires me to get out of bed, open the door, go down the hall and get her a towel. I honestly don't understand the logic here. Anyone? Really?

The Crazy MiL and the dogs...

She has 2 dogs that she doesn’t take care of. She doesn’t walk them, feeds them food like chocolate chip or snickers ice cream, constantly gives them treats for nothing, reinforces bad behavior, and lately she’s decided that when she doesn’t want to take care of them that it’s our responsibility. Yesterday she told us that her work was starting to actually keep track of her hours she was running late. She fed the dogs but couldn’t be bothered to take the minutes that it would take to let them out, so we had to. Normally this wouldn’t be a huge deal, I mean letting them out every once in a while is ok, but this happens all the time. So this morning she yells up the stairs until we answer and tells us she’s running late again and she let the dogs out but one wouldn’t come inside so we needed to give him a few minutes and then let him in. The hubby seems to have reached his limit of shit from his mother which is a bit entertaining. He heard her demand, got out of bed, left the room and slammed the door. All I heard was him say “NO!” to her and then he came back up minute later. Apparently the dog was literally waiting to be let in at the door and all that needed to be done was open the door. She is just so lazy that she doesn't want to do anything and if something makes her take an extra 30 seconds she can't even do it unless it benefits her.

I love it when he stands up to her!

We were also both very excites that her work is going to start tracking her hours because she goes to work maybe half the time she's scheduled, maybe. She just decides that she doesn't want to go in and sits in front of the tv all day. She goes days at a time without showering too, which is gross. Maybe she'll start learning some responsibility

At Daughter’s birthday party, my mother in law began talking about how Baby looks just like Hubs and nothing like me, etc. Then my Dad stepped in.

MIL: He looks just like his father! Dad: Oh God, I hope not! MIL: Hey, we’ve got some good looking men in my family! Dad: Really? I must not have met them yet!

My dad rocks. My MIL never shuts up about how Baby is basically a clone of his father and looks nothing like me. My dad told my mum before the party “I’m not putting up with that shit anymore”.

My mother-in-law still cannot correctly interpret my baby's needs. Consistently confuses hungry with tired or missing boob. Solid proof today when I picked him up early. He fussed a little as I was putting him in his car seat and she assertively said, oh yeah, he's hungry. Except, he wasn't hungry. He was tired. I could tell because he was rubbing his eyes. And although he was totally willing to nurse when we got home, he certainly wasn't starving. 4.5 more days of infuriating in-law day care and then he's all mine again!
