After reading “film, Television, and Off Screen Studies,” by Jonathan Gray I thought of this new hot movie everyone has been talking about called Get Out. The trailer itself has raised eyebrows and caused many people to talk and discuss the film. The plot line of the film seems so out of sorts its almost as if people can’t decide to not go watch it. This paratext has lead people to go see the film, which was rated 100 on Rotten Tomatoes. This trailer has caused much discussion between people ultimately allowing it to become very successful in theatres after just being released. Trailers are a good example of paratexts because the audience views it and decides in that moment if the film would be something they would pay money to go see. An example of the placement of this particular trailer has been all over twitter allowing a large audience to speak on it and decide whether or not to go see it.
