“but bro, i love you.”
She always keeps her emotions bottled up and sometimes it just overflows. Then she always retreats to one of her little spots, hiding out. She is curled up in a window in an usually empty part of the library, tears running down her cheeks. Thing is, none of her places are really secret to him - her best friend.
This was a side she kept hidden from him, her sadness. So when he happened upon her she told him it was nothing. I love you, hearing that both warmed and made her heart ache at the same time. She felt pathetic.
“I know” she wiped her cheeks with her sleeve. “I love you too” she forced a soft smile, she was good at making even the fake ones look genuine. “It’s really nothing, it’s just the book” an obvious lie she realized as she looked down at it. Lost in thought she only held it to seem busy, and she had an astronomy book on her lap, hardly any sad parts in that one.
