Hmm… I guess that's what I'm always happy about when I start working on something new: that it's something completely new. That I can learn new things, start over without worrying about what I was doing before, abandon the routine… Whenever I start writing or drawing something new, I decide at the very beginning what style I'm going to adopt, how I'm going to tell the story... When I started SATIM, I wanted to keep the atmosphere of a mono-coloured world, I didn't want to impose plot continuity or close the comic in a rigid framework - that's why there are no visible frames, there are strips of different lengths and the comic is quite gag in nature.
Here (in the Baal and Aym story) I focused on something completely different - we have closed frames, pages of a certain size, each subsequent one doesn't have to end with a plot twist or punch line… This is a very… liberating feeling. In addition, I don't draw the backgrounds on a piece of paper - I add them entirely in the computer, just like the speech bubbles. It also gives me a sense of freedom.
I guess that's what I like the most.
Also, I'm excited to show you up with my own idea (one of) for certain game events… I love to make logical present my own version of "how did what we see in the game come about".
