Hi! I finished my second draft of my novel in August and... havent written anything since. I won NaNo, but every word was agony and I hated the story. I'm starting to get it back but it's like 2000 words a week and after work (which is part time) I tend to not have any energy or time to write. What sucks the most is that whenever I finally get the urge to write, that's when my love decides they want to cuddle and be really cute. How do I get better discipline and find that spark again?
Hey there @gotowhatsanapocalae
CONGRATULATIONS!! That’s wonderful that you’ve finished a second draft!!
Awwwh your love is adorable! You gotta get your priorities in order. I find it’s far better for the soul to cuddle while you can. Writing is important, but you have to live. Be a Human first and a Writer second.
Finding the ‘right time’ to write is kind of irrelevant… there will never be a perfect time to write. You are already doing the right thing by writing when you can, 2000 words a week is fantastic and way better than nothing! You could always try to organize yourself a schedule, maybe get up half an hour early in the mornings and write then. Or make every day the same, so you routinely write between 6 and 7. Try to allocate that time as ‘work’ Don’t forget to read too- absorbing stories is important.
Best of luck! You’ve totally got this! Just don’t give up completely. You are doing a good job! :D
