Creating Synthesis ~ 19 August 2020 . It's been a week that he's been gone. Tomorrow would be his 35th birthday. . I woke up around 4am... My mind spinning, thinking about grief and grieving. . I got up and started writing around 5... Until I needed to move and allow the heaviness to descend into and through my body. . Outside, the sky waking up, I melted onto my mat, practicing poses of surrender. Creating Synthesis ~ 21 July 2020 Day 11 ~ Waking Up at 06:00 for 30 Days . I woke up at 05:35 this morning!!! I did not get up, lol 😆 I drifted back to sleep until the 06:00 alarm went off. Got up pretty quickly even through I was both tired and comfy. . Set up my mat in the circle in front of the air altar as has been my habit lately. I allowed my intuition to guide my practice - flowing from asana to asana in response to the movements my body requested. . Modified Side Planks (pictured) have been making their way into my practice the past few days. I love the feeling of openness in this posture. . Looking up, into the sky, I saw a group of dragonflies swirling and dancing in the breeze against the nearly cloudless sky. . Dragonflies have associations with illusion and the ability to dance between the worlds. . Howdy, Folx! It's Synthesis Saturday!  Annnnddddd FEBRUARY 29TH... I don't know about you, but I've always been a fan of Leap Day. It feels like this magical - doesn't really exist time. It's like creating a whole new day out of the bits and pieces of time that didn't get used. Some of my favorite creative works come from playing around with scraps and "trash" and bits and pieces of "nothing" and conjuring them together into something. A lot of my cooking goes like that. "Hmmm... What's leftover in the fridge? Half an onion, some eggs, leftover sauteed veggies..." Throw it all in a pan... And magic called "omelet" (or more likely "scrambled eggs") happens!
