No News is Good News
It seems somewhat remiss of me to have already stalled with my posting. Boo hoo. I have several valid excuses: illness, family visits and what I want to talk about today.
I live in a small seaside town. The recession hit it like Chris Brown hit Rhianna, and what was once a scenic, Victorian resort kind of faded to grey - literally. However, through a chance encounter with a friend's mum, who runs a local craft shop I got involved in a project called The Creative Emporium.
Agnes is a wonderful woman who seems to have joy in her heart and a smile on her face 24/7. Frankly it's exhausting being around her. She's been working with the local council and a ton of local artists (Bangor seems to be full to the gills with talented people) to create a kind of creative farmer's market where local crafters and creatives can show off their wares and hopefully make a little money along the way.
Once I'd got over the initial anxiety attack caused by the thought of showing my work to potentially hundreds people (if not more) during Bangor Culture Day I realised that it was a great opportunity! I'm taking some of my costumes down to the Emporium to display as well as my sewing machine to work on my boyfriend's Attack on Titan Cosplay outfit and some faux fur collars that i've been wanting to make and sell for ages.
I won't have as much to show as the other crafters, I'm quite certain, but for now it's a start. I'll post some pictures from the day here and in the mean time my 16th Century Stays will be put on hold while I organise myself for the event.
To say I'm nervous is an understatement but I'll stick it out and i'm sure I'll have a fab day :)
Peace y'all.
