Spider plant — the first plant I learned to keep alive, twelve years ago when we first moved to Charleston, SC. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ My grandma had a huge one that hung in her west-facing living room window, and I remember the baby “spiders” dropping down on runners around the parent plant, remember how good I felt understanding why the plant had its name. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I guess naming things has always been important to me: plants, feelings, relationships, ideas, brands… Somehow, naming a thing makes it more real, you know? It gives it permission to exist, in a way, and a reason to keep it alive. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I wonder if that’s why I keep my spider plants alive now? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Or if it’s a tiny way that I keep Grandma here, reminding myself how she lived and make that more important than the fact she’s been gone twenty years. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I might be naming my own life. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ With a spider plant. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ _____ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #bykellēsauer #livemoremagic #songofseasons #howtobealover #creativemay #littlecornersofmyhome #chiaroscuro #besutifulmatters #theartofslowliving #cottagecore #liveauthentic #wildsssouls #dowhatyoulovelovewhatyoudo #quietinthewild #gowildlyandslow #thisismycommunity #romanticizeyourlife #myseasonalstory #entrepreneur #storyofbeing __ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ (at San Francisco Bay Area) https://www.instagram.com/p/ChE88JDrPzV/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
