I have clear ideas of some of my world building, but I don't know how to write it down? This sounds weird, but in my head I have a clear idea of what it is, but whenever I open google docs it just feels constricting :/
Then don’t open Google Docs.
By that, I mean…don’t feel like just because you have some non-story elements in your head that you have to take elaborate notes and flesh everything out on paper before you start writing. If that’s holding you back from writing your story, then don’t do it.
You can start by just writing your story, if that suits you. Take a character’s perspective and start writing. If that’s not what you’re into and you need to get thoughts to paper in other ways, try these:
Draw. Draw faces, landscapes, cityscapes, impressions, feelings…whatever. Use different mediums. Pencil, paint, pastel, blood (maybe not. But maybe…) whatever helps your brain get moving.
Use a typewriter
Write in a notebook instead of typing on a computer
Cut pictures out of magazines and create a scrapbook of aesthetics from your story, characters, or world
Try writing with different genres of music playing in the background and see if one help spark something in your brain.
Play music
Go for a walk and try to imagine how the things around you might play a part in your story or world. How would your characters react to what they see around them? Why would or wouldn’t the things you see be present in your fictional world?
Read books.
