Apple White

My au in general is basically 1:1 with the show but if they were slightly aged up and had darker story elements, especially in terms of misogyny and homophobia within the world. Ties a lot to apple specifically. She dyes her hair to play her part better, to make people less worried about her being an illfitting snow white, everyone basically knows its dyed but they dont really comment about it much, it brings her some sense of security. Her Mother is VERY emotionally neglectful and often only prides apple in accomplishments that directly benefit her and her image. Shes never *purposely* abusive but is often passive aggressive and makes judgemental comments about Apple, her appearance, her friends, etc which in turn would fuel apples insecurities. She is bordering on emotional incest at points.

Apple has incredibly bad comphet/internalized homophobia, she cant truly process herself as even being lesbian as there'd be no way she would be allowed that. Shes known Daring since they were children, they're an arranged marriage and she cares for him deeply but cant separate that feeling from the idea of it being what romance is. Her story follows her struggles with insecurities, depression, and coming to terms with who she is an individual instead of her role. She developes a [one sided] crush on Raven after begining their friendship and forcing that weird ass dynamic onto them and it causes her to spiral further into her paranoia and obsession with her Happily Ever After which leads her to The Evil Queens mirror.

The Evil Queen essentially grooms apple into being a pawn, she manipulates her through her insecurities, sexuality, and a twisted form of motherly love. It explores it through a darker lense and would take more time than in the show. [it is Not romantized]

After Apple gets poised and saved by Darling she takes awhile to reflect on her personhood. She goes through a lot of ups and downs in this story, I find her very tragic but ultimately she finds a form of acceptance in herself.

I do hope my ideas are interesting to others, I've used this world to project a lot of my experiences onto and I care about it deeply.

Ever After High

Ive been thinking about Ever After a lot, and I wanted to draw headshots for funsies :3I really miss and mourn this show, there was so much that could of been expanded on but unfortunately that will never happen, mattel isnt risking what happened b4 again. feel free to ask about anything with my inrpretations, ill probably make references for some of them at some point and go deeper into my designs and ideas :9

when i first started watching EAH as a kid i wanted to be apple so bad because she was basically perfect

I'm thinking about the concept of someone going through Apple's diary, finding a page dedicated to things like the word "Darling" circled in hearts. But Apple of course couldn't be in love with a princess, so they assume it's a nickname and start an anonymous search through the school, trying to find this mysterious Prince Darling, not realising it is, in fact, the Darling Charming herself.
