W dniu dzisiejszym uczestniczyłem w wykładzie historycznym przygotowującym wolontariuszy do uczestniczenia w akcji „Żonkile” organizowanej przez Muzeum Żydów Polskich POLIN. Podczas niego ukazano nam tragiczną sytuację Żydów uwięzionych w warszawskim getcie (m.in. dramat wielkiej akcji likwidacyjnej), a także ogrom zniszczeń (na załączonym obrazku) dokonanych w wyniku stłumienia powstania przez Jürgena Stroppa.

Twigarts Collaboration Issue #1

This is an International School of Tanganyika CAS project initiated by Annie Chopra and Samana Khimji. It is a creative magazine focusing on the areas of: visual arts, photography, performing arts, music and literature. Giving a platform to high school students to demonstrate their artistry. Definitely worth a read.

Happiness Explosion! 

That’s what I would call the first Twigarts Magazine! The amount of mails sent out to produce this one copy was insane. And all I could say is I am proud of what we have managed to create. Like the name suggests “Collaboration” from Ms.Cussen, Ms.Gilman, Samana, Matthew, Aliyana, all the people whose work were part of it, Mr.Smith and our publishers Speedy, all the support of the student body is what made this happen. 

The upcoming issue’s first draft is in process, and artists are emerging from IST’s High School students. It has been a hectic month, preparation for exams, IA deadlines and alongside it sending mails and collecting all the materials required for the issue. 

This magazine has given a platform to all the high school students to let out their creative talents. Some which might go on international levels. It has encouraged the student body to be more creatively active and innovative. This is a service to the school and a great experience for Samana and I as editors.

CCA Photography presentations #reflections

First reflection: Today and usually further on until I am allowed to shot photos after school for the ccas I can not shot any photos of the CCAs. However I will soon ask Ms. Bain if in the next couple of weeks I can skip the Football cca to take photos. Tomorrow I am going to start with taking photos of the ccas. Hopefully I will be able to get photos of all of the ccas going on. Furthermore today Anuka was able to take some videos.

Today, I have been able to take all of the photos needed to make the presentations. In the time period of 2 weeks I will complete the presentation together with Anuka. We will then present the presentation as a video on the message board at the front of the school entrance after the cca's finish.

Anuka has started to work on creating the video. At the moment I am not able to actively participate in the process of creating the video because we are using imovie and I do not have a working mac book, which supports the video file. We want to meet up on the 6th to finish the work before the ccas end. The reason we also take a large amount of time to finish this assignment is because of other responsibilities we both have to complete with after school work. This is also one the reasons, we try to meet up on the weekends to work on the assignment.

Today the 16th of October me and my partner want to meet up and create the video together. However, due to a lack of communication that did not occur.

As a result Anuka was able to make a video and it was presented on the information screen at the entrance of our school. However, due to our lack of communication I did not participate in the process of making the video. I will improve my time management skills for my next CAS projects and create more specified plans, which I will follow.

The most time consuming project this year for me was Pizza for Three. We started in the summer with an idea to make a film with a positive message. Eventually, that film became charitable and we named it Pizza for Three. I feel like this was one of the greatest moments of growth for me throughout high school. Logistically, we had to work through so many problems concerned with the actual filming of the concept. coming up with the idea and fleshing out the story was one of the easier steps, but I can also recall spending hours just talking about what one of the characters was like. We held auditions, found actors, organized them, coordinated shooting, and then finally spent the majority of the time polishing the film. We started the process in July and were done filming by September. We eventually had screenings around February where we raised about $300 for the Nishant Foundation. We had many, many problems and I don't remember ever being so frustrated in my life, but in the end, it was worth it just to see what we had created.
