Creator resources
Last updated: 28 Dec 2025
Hello all! I decided to start sharing assets and resources that I use to create my CC for The Sims 4. I will be adding them to the Proton Drive folder linked below. These resources are either created by me or extracted from The Sims 4.
Available so far:
Miscellaneous textures
All added assets have additional information available in the Info panel. If you use any of my custom resources, please follow common sense and my terms of use. I will update this post whenever I add new content.

How I changed my CC workflow (work in progress)
Hey everyone! I shared a new post for my Patreon members which describes how my custom content creation process has changed over time.
This post is not a tutorial, but rather a collection of personal reflections - combined with some useful links and sneak peeks. I plan to share more in-depth information about my work moving forward (under the #creatorhub tag), so if that's something that interests you make sure to check out my Patreon.

P.S. To reiterate, I will continue sharing custom content and resources as free content. Work in progress posts, as well as such deep dives into my workflows, will be published on Patreon for Patreon members.
Simblr accessibility tips
I was browsing through the #s4cc tag the other day. I saw this one post which had the download link labelled as "dl (ea)". I spent a good amount of time wondering what "ea" stands for. My first thought was "Electronic Arts" which made me go "huh", second thought was "I need to click this to figure it out". Turns out it means "early access" lol
Quick disclaimer: I also still fall into a trap of not using plain langauge when creating Tumblr posts or adding links. But, recently I started to work a lot with digital accessibility. I thought I'd make a list of tips as a reminder of things to consider, for myself and for others.
Avoid unusual abbreviations. Not everyone knows what "bgc", "dl" or "ea" stands for. Here's a bad example of abbreviations in my own old post. Use "base game compatible", "download", "early access" instead.
Use meaningful link text. Don't make people wonder where a link would take them. When using a screen reader, navigating to a link with a label "dl" outside of post context can be confusing.
Avoid using Unicode characters. Using stylized Unicode characters may look cool, but here's what Unicode sounds like when using a screen reader.
Tumblr autoplays all GIFs. It's good to add a "gif warning" tag to your post if you use GIFs. Another option is to omit GIFs altogether. Motion can be a source of distraction to some, and very harmful to others. Read more about digital accessibility and motion
Tumblr gives an option to add alt text to images. Alt text is a summary of graphic content. Keep your alt text short and descriptive.
Try to use plain language. Also, pay attention to how you format text. Read more about clear language on Readability Guidelines
There's so much more to talk about when it comes to digital accessibility. I tried to keep this short and keep this list Simblr-related. I hope that you will find these tips and resources useful!
Hey! I love your CC and love even more that you share resources for others to create their own CC! I was wondering if you would be able to share or point me in the direction of some wood textures? Like the ones you used on your Garden Stories set?
The C&D expansion has a lovely orange/brown knotted pine swatch (noticeably different to the others) that I'm finding hard to replicate and your garden stories texture is the closest I've seen!
Absolutely love what you make and hope to see more 😁❤️!
Hi!
I actually extracted one of the Cottage Living (?) floor tile textures and used it in the Garden Stories set. Also, my resources folder has a couple of different wood textures that I either created myself, or extracted from The Sims and modified them.
Here's the texture I used (it's not included in the shared folder since I haven't used it since the garden set):
hi!! can I ask how do you take and edit your dollhouse screenshots? they look absolutely gorg x
Hey hey! Apologies for the late response. I suppose this question prompts a mini-tutorial!
Software I use:
Greenshot to take screenshots
Adobe Photoshop CC (latest version) to edit images
Note: this tutorial requires basic knowledge of the standard Adobe Photoshop tools. I will however provide links to Adobe help pages throughout this tutorial.
1. Take a screenshot
First things first: take a screenshot of a build you'd like to edit. I use Greenshot instead of in-game screenshot capture because I use ReShade to adjust the exposure levels.
I try to mimic the isometric projection when I take the screenshots.
This is the original screenshot:
2. Create a new Adobe Photoshop file
Create a new file in Adobe Photoshop. Don't forget to save the file as .psd so that you can save your progress. For this tutorial, my preset settings are as follows:
3. Add the screenshot as a Smart Object layer
Drag & drop the screenshot into the file you created. This adds the screenshot as a Smart Object layer. This means that you can apply different adjustments to the layer with the ability to reverse any changes.
Resize the layer according to your preference.
4. Remove the background
I use gradient or solid backgrounds in my build edits. This means that I need to isolate the build from its original background. To do that, I use the Polygonal Lasso tool. The edges of the build in my screenshot are mostly straight, so this tool is sufficient.
Once the selection is complete, press the "Select and Mask..." button which should be visible in the top toolbar.
In this workspace, you can play around with selection settings to refine the edges. In my case, I don't need to do a lot of adjustments (I only increased the "Contrast" property).
In the same Properties toolbar, under "Output Settings", select "Layer Mask" as the Output To option. Press "Ok" to exit the Select and Mask workspace.
5. Ta-daa!
The background is now not visible. In the "Layers" tab, you can see that your screenshot layer now has a mask applied to it. It's always better to "cut out" parts of images using masks - this way you can re-adjust visible parts of the image and reverse any previous actions.
6. Create a new background
Now for the fun part - creating a new background for your edit. You can do it via the top toolbar by selecting Layer -> New Fill Layer -> Solid Color or Gradient. For this tutorial, I selected "Gradient" and picked some lovely pink shades.
7. Adjust brightness, contrast, etc.
Finally, I add some layer adjustments to the screenshot layer. I typically adjust brightness/contrast, color balance and saturation settings.
And that's it?? Hope this was useful!
A couple of notes:
Make sure that the in-game lighting matches the overall vibe you're going for with your edit. I found that harsh sunlight doesn't work too well as some areas of the light-colored objects become overexposed. I like to take my screenshots in cloudy weather conditions :)
I don't use any camera mods.
hi there! do you have any tutorial or tips on how you turn icons from sims 4 into black and white tattoos? i’ve done tattoos in the past but i couldn’t figure out how to make the colors transparent. i hope you understand my question 😅
Hi!
I don't have a detailed tutorial about the topic of transparency in textures. The steps that you take depend on your image editing software, but the general idea is that you need to adjust the transparency in elements of an image texture. .png as a file format supports transparency. In .dds textures, transparency of elements is defined through the alpha channel.
When you add the texture to Sims4Studio, you can also play around with the composition methods that are available in the Warehouse tab. They affect how the texture "blends in" with other sim textures, such as skin details and skin tones.
I know this response is not very detailed, but I hope these tips help!
Um..........
