Take a look at the white-spotted boxfish - found in reefs in the Indian and Pacific oceans, this unique fish has developed an unusual look. The males are very colourful, with bright blue, orange and yellow highlights, whereas the females (last picture) are darker black or brown, but still sport the amazing spots. Interestingly, no juvenile fish have ever been spotted with male colouration, therefore implying that either the males develop their bright colours later in life, or that all white-spotted boxfish are born female and later change their sex as they mature.
